Actress Natalie Dormer talks filming s-x scenes

Natalie Dormer, an actress known for her roles in Game of Thrones and The Tudors, has claimed that anyone who says they are comfortable acting in s** scenes are “fibbers”.

Although Dormer has stripped off on the small screen before, she insisted that she finds the whole thing very intimidating.

She told Women’s Health UK that “the choreography of s** scenes is so unsexy and unglamorous…it’s just timing and technical.” She added that the experience is not less traumatic or embarrassing and can be a bit awkward.

Dormer also talked about how she puts high demands on herself to stay in shape, and insisted her workout achievements put things “into perspective”.

She does not have a trainer and is entirely self-motivated.

She explained that if you want to do something, you should do it properly, otherwise, what’s the point? She believes that this puts the superficial thing of wishing for a slimmer waist into perspective and takes the pressure off, really.

Earlier this year, Dormer starred in The Scandalous Lady W, and she admitted it “had to be a really strong story” for her to go back on her vow to not wear a corset again.

For a few months, she was “Natalie Dormer always in a corset” and was fed up.

“It had to be a really strong story to warrant me getting back into one, and this is extraordinary,” she said.

Dormer’s opinion on s** scenes might come as a surprise to some fans who know her for her roles in Game of Thrones and The Tudors.

In those shows, she had several intimate scenes.

However, she has always been vocal about how uncomfortable she is with those situations.

In an interview with The Daily Beast in 2014, she said, “s** scenes are never easy.”
In the same interview, Dormer revealed that she had to get over her fear of n^dty early on in her career.

She said, “It’s always uncomfortable taking your clothes off in front of anyone.” However, she eventually got used to it and learned how to separate herself from the character she was playing.

“You have to go, ‘OK, this is the job; this is what I’m being paid for.

It’s not gratuitous; it’s important to the story.’ You can’t be half-hearted about it,” she explained.

Dormer is not alone in feeling uncomfortable with s** scenes.

Many actors have talked about how awkward and unsexy the experience can be.

In a 2017 interview with Vanity Fair, Nicole Kidman said, “I don’t find doing s** scenes comfortable…I never feel that comfortable doing them.”

Similarly, Dakota Johnson told Interview magazine in 2015 that s** scenes are “never comfortable” and require a lot of trust between actors and the director.

Despite her discomfort with s** scenes, Dormer has continued to take on challenging roles that require nudity.

In Picnic at Hanging Rock, a mini-series released in 2018, she played the headmistress of an Australian boarding school in 1900.

The show features several scenes where Dormer is seen in her undergarments or fully nude.
