The 71st annual Cannes Film Festival kicked off in style but a number of guests suffered wardrobe malfunctions at the festival opening, including model Barbara Meier.

The Germany’s Next Topmodel winner appeared to struggle with her ensemble outside Frances Palais des Festivals.

The 31-year-old accidentally left nothing to the imagination as she posed with her partner, Austrian entrepreneur Klemens Hallmann.

The actress exposed her underwear as she arranged her skirt in full view of the worlds media.

She seemed oblivious to her mishap despite seemingly trying to keep her frock in place as she made her way into a screening of Everybody Knows.

Barbara wore her red hair up in a stunning do and cut a dramatic figure in a billowing pale pink gown.

She appeared to be going braless in the plunging creation, which was slashed open to her tum and secured in place with a bold gold belt.

The floaty offering also featured a large statement sleeve piece, while she accessorised with statement earrings.

Barbara elongated her legs in metallic and perspex stilettos before sharing a number of pictures with her 99,000 Instagram followers.

Unfortunately, Barbara wasnt the only one to have a fashion faux pas as fellow guest Victoria Bonya exposed far too much as the festival opened.

The 38-year-old turned heads for all the right reasons in a breathtaking, aquamarine gown, however her evening didnt quite go to plan.

As she strutted inside, her n^de knickers became clearly visible as the voluminous skirt came apart.

Meanwhile, Patricia Contreras suffered a serious nip-slip after donning a lilac frock for the premiere.

The unfortunate gaffe saw the 30-year-old, who had ditched her bra for the occasion, accidentally unveil her left n^pp|e.

The premiere was also attended by the likes of Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, Kristen Stewart, Cate Blanchett and Georgia May Jagger.

Thriller, Everybody Knows, is a Spanish-language movie following Laura (Cruz) as she returns to her hometown outside Madrid from Buenos Aires with her Argentinian husband Paco.

Penelope, 44, stars alongside her real-life spouse Javier, 49, in the flick.
