Actors who admitted to stealing things from film Sets

Actors and actresses are known for taking on their roles with great devotion, often spending hours on set perfecting their craft.

It’s no wonder that some of them feel entitled to take a few props home with them when the filming is over.

From legendary costumes and jewelry to classic items, these are the stars who knew exactly what they were doing when they “removed” props from set.

One famous example is Ben Affleck, who took a bat-shaped weapon from the set of Justice League in 2017.

He received calls from the prop department asking if he had taken it.

Eventually, the actor received a bill for the prop.

“Turns out batarangs aren’t cheap!”

he said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Breaking Bad co-stars Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston both took Heisenberg’s black bowler hats when the series wrapped in 2013.

Paul also took the model of Gus Fring’s destroyed skull from the nursing home episode and the burnt pink teddy bear – with permission from show creator Vince Gilligan.

Dakota Johnson, star of Fifty Shades of Grey, admitted to taking a flogger from the set.

She also stole lots of her character’s HANRO underwear, saying, “They were comfortable.”

The film’s costume designer told InStyle he went with simple white styles from the Swiss brand because they signify “virginity.”

Chris Pratt took his Star-Lord jacket and other Guardians of the Galaxy clothes so he could visit kids in the hospital.

“That would give me real meaning for this movie, you know?”

he told Panzer TV.

“I can follow the example of someone — say, like, a Russell Wilson.”

Robert Pattinson shocked his Twilight co-stars, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, when he admitted to taking “a lot of underwear” from all five Twilight movies.

“They have the best underwear, and I have no idea where they get it from.

I use it every day,” Pattinson told reporters.

Maisie Williams, who played Arya Stark in Game of Thrones, took her character’s leather jacket from the costume department.

She also confessed she managed to steal a lot of Arya’s “faceless man coins.”

As Parks and Recreation wrapped in 2015, Adam Scott took his desk nameplate, which read “Ben Wyatt, City Manager,” although he doesn’t know what he’ll do with it yet.

Amy Poehler took the giant Pawnee seal that hung behind her desk all those years.

“When I picture working in the [Parks] department, I picture sitting at Leslie’s desk,” she explained.

Mark Wahlberg admitted to stealing a prosthetic p-nis from the set of Boogie Nights.

“You have this weird guy putting it on you.

You have to wear it all day,” he said on Late Night with Seth Myers.

Matt LeBlanc joked that he stole a “ton of cash” from Friends.

“I couldn’t fit the couch in my car,” he kidded.

He actually took the foosball from the foosball table in Joey and Chandler’s apartment and “clipped” the Magna Doodle from the back of the apartment’s door, giving it to the electrician who used to write things on it.

Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies, stole the number off the Dursleys’ house, 4 Privet Drive.

When he stole the Goblet of Fire golden dragon egg using a pillowcase, the props team made him return it.

“Apparently it was worth a few thousand dollars,” Grint admitted.

Sandra Oh, who played Cristina Yang on Grey’s Anatomy, took the rug from Owen and Cristina’s apartment before they broke up.

“It’s in my living room,” she said.

Finally, Ian McKellen, who played Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings movies, took the keys to hobbit Bilbo Baggins’ home and unique golden coins from Smaug the dragon’s lair.

The latter props came from his favorite set, “the golden Liar … Hundreds of thousands of golden coins, specially made,” he admitted on Reddit.

Ryan Reynolds stole his signature costume from the set of Deadpool.

“I loved wearing it, and I have run away with one,” he revealed.

“I’ll probably get into trouble for saying that, but I’ve waited 10 years to do this movie, so I’m leaving with a fucking suit.”

As Cinema Blend explains, “Deadpool’s suit is one of the few comic book costumes that actually look like it’s been ripped from the printed page and plopped into real life.”

In conclusion, these actors and actresses may have taken some props from set, but they have created memories that will last a lifetime.

While some items were returned or taken with permission, others were outright thefts.

Regardless, their actions show how invested they are in their roles and how much they value the work they put into them.
