Owing to their ‘very turbulent relationship’ in the past, Game of Thrones stars Lena Headey and Jerome Flynn have never acted in a single scene together.

Despite their overlapping storylines, Lena, 45, is said to have “refused” to film alongside the 56-year-old.

According to a source from the show, Headey, who portrays ruthless royal Cersei Lannister in the HBO fantasy drama, requested that sequences be meticulously organized so the former lovebirds wouldn’t have to be in the same room together.

A show insider alleges they were kept apart because of a “very turbulent relationship,” according to The Sun.

‘Lena and Jerome have not filmed together due to a bad break-up,’ a source connected to the program told The Sun.

‘They kept the full extent of it secret but it was a very turbulent relationship and it has been very awkward on set.’

Before Game of Thrones, Lena, 45, and Jerome, 56, appeared in the British TV drama series Soldier Soldier in the late 1990s.

Bronn has portrayed Tyrion and Jaime Lannister’s bodyguard before working on behalf of Cersei herself in the latter episodes, and their characters have been intertwined throughout the eight series.

In 2002, rumors of a love relationship between the two stars emerged, although they were never officially confirmed.

When asked about it a year later, Jerome admitted that he ‘couldn’t rule out a relationship’ with his co-star.

He stated, “We’re not a couple right now, people have seen us together and jumped to conclusions. I can’t rule out a relationship with her.”

According to The Sun, the two haven’t spoken in years, blaming their 2014 separation.

“They kept the full extent of it secret,” the insider claimed, “but it was a very turbulent relationship, and it has been very awkward on set. She has opened up to her trusted friends.”

The program has been criticized for its last season, with fans calling it “rushed” and “incompetently written.”
