Michael Jackson was relentlessly pursued by paparazzi for the most of his life, and it appears that his daughter Paris Jackson is following in his footsteps.

A day after her Rolling Stone cover and interview made waves for her forthright statements about her father’s death (or “murder,” as she termed it) and her identification as a Black woman, Paris was surrounded by paparazzi at Los Angeles International Airport. The music scion was extremely distressed, almost in tears at one point, as she asked the paparazzi to “leave me alone.” They didn’t do it.

Ugh, I’m sure we can all agree that no one deserves that. Fans were upset, and many spoke out in defense of the model and actress. “Where tf is her security?” one user asked on Instagram. “Outta breath fat ass grown men chasing after a child. This is shameful,” another wrote. Agreed!

The aspiring model was on her way back to California from a trip to France for Paris Fashion Week when she was surrounded by photographers and reporters in front of the airport’s Coffee Bean. “I’m sorry, you guys are like blinding me, I’m really sorry,” she yelled. Paris runs, pleading with the cameramen, “Please stop, please stop” as her security motions for the reporters to back away.

Later, a source told Entertainment Tonight about the meeting. “This is the first time Paris has experienced paparazzi attention of this magnitude,” the insider said. “She was very scared.”

Paris had just recounted her suicide attempts, sadness over her father’s death, and much more in her first in-depth interview.

“[I attempted suicide] multiple times,” she admits. “It was just once that it became public.” Giving an interview like that is not easy, and it’s beyond tragic that she was pursued at the airport during such a sensitive moment.
