Mel Gibson faces backlash after racist rant is caught on tape
Mel Gibson, the Hollywood actor and filmmaker, has been under fire from African American groups after allegedly launching a racist and sexist tirade against his former partner.
On Thursday, the website Radaronline.com published transcribed snippets from an audiotape of Gibson telling his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva that she looked like a “pig in heat” because of the way she was dressed.
“You go out in public and it’s a f***ing embarrassment to me,” the man says at one point in the nearly two-minute recording. “You look like a f***ing b**** on heat and if you get raped by a pack of n***ers it will be your fault.”
Lucia, their infant daughter, is said to be screaming and crying in the recording’s background.
Exactly when the audio was captured is unknown.

Radar claims to have heard the recording, which Grigorieva allegedly taped as her relationship with Gibson deteriorated. Gibson also called Grigorieva a whore and other derogatory insults for women, as well as threatening to burn down her home in the tape.
No other news organization has been able to listen to the recording or corroborate its validity. The audio is said to have been filed with a Los Angeles court as part of a contentious custody battle over the couple’s daughter.
After dating for more than a year, Gibson, 54, and Grigorieva, 40, called it quits in April. She filed a restraining order against Gibson last week, alleging that he assaulted her in January at his Malibu home while arguing in front of their now 8-month-old daughter, Lucia. Gibson allegedly hit her in the face and smashed her teeth, according to sources close to the Russian-born singer.
The investigation into Grigorieva’s claims is still ongoing, according to the police.
Gibson did not deny they had a fight, but described it as a “loud argument” through his lawyer.
Grigorieva recorded her ex after he made a series of murder threats against her, a source informed Radar Online.
“She wanted to get evidence that he was dangerous and violent. Oksana’s motivation for recording this was to show Mel how mean he was, and because she feared for her life,” the insider explained.
