Ex-Disney star David Henrie will play Ronald Reagan in new biopic
In a forthcoming biopic, former Disney actor David Henrie will play Ronald Reagan.
You might be wondering who David Henrie is. I’m not sure, but some of the younger people might. Henrie is known for his appearances on Wizards of Waverly Place and That’s So Raven. He portrayed the son on How I Met Your Mother, which may be familiar to the slightly older members of the TV-watching society. Now he’ll play the role of a young Ronnie Reagan, when he was a lousy actor and a vehement anti-communist.
Reagan is a $25 million independent film about a KGB officer who has been following Reagan since his days as a Hollywood actor in films like Bedtime for Bonzo and Kings Row.
“It’s a universal film with universal values and principles,” Henrie previously told The Hollywood Reporter about the project.
Howard Klausner of “Space Cowboy’s” adapted the picture, which is based on two biographies by Paul Kengor. Henrie is the first member of the cast to be revealed.

When he played Notre Dame football player George Gipp in Knute Rockne, All American in 1940, he earned the moniker “The Gipper”
“Reagan” is the first biopic on the 40th President of the United States to be released on the big screen.
Reagan will also be included in Fargo’s forthcoming second season.
David Henrie’s cinematic career is on the upswing. He’s also working on a number of other projects, including Walt Before Mickey and Paul Blart Mall Cop 2, both of which will be released this year.
