Karen Gillan shows off bald head at Comic Con
When it comes to getting into character, Karen Gillan leaves no stone unturned or hair untangled.
On Saturday, July 20, the 25-year-old Doctor actress stunned her fans at Comic-Con by donning a red wig and exposing a newly shaven head at the Guardians of the Galaxy panel in San Diego.
She was officially announced as villainous space pirate Nebula.
“Isn’t Nebula bald?” said moderator Chris Hardwick as she sat on a panel at the event.
“Yeah, she is,” Gillan said swiftly. “And I might have done something a little bit crazy.”

As she yanked off the wig, Karen exclaimed, “’It’s liberating. I think everyone here should shave their heads.”
The audience erupted in applause for Gillan’s new appearance as she tossed the hair accessory into the crowd before saying, “I need that back!”
Also the remainder of the Guardians of the Galaxy cast was revealed.
Karen accentuated her eyes at the event with a sweeping of black liner, and shimmering of golden shadow in the corners of her peepers. Light shadow in the corners merging out to dark at the edges is a wonderful technique to make your eyes appear bigger, and we’re loving the look on the Dr Who star.
She wasn’t the only one sporting a new hairstyle. Other actors wearing bald heads during the “Guardians” panel were Michael Rooker (Yondu), Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), and Djimon Hounsou (Korath).
Lee Pace will play Ronan the Accuser, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, John C Reilly as Rhomann and Djimon Hounsou as Koranth.
Pratt said of Quill: ‘There’s a petulance to him. ‘Without going too much into his origin, he hasn’t been really held accountable as an adult. He’s just been free in space and able to do whatever he’s wanted to do.’
In a podcast conversation with Michael Rosenbaum, she discussed the challenges of a long-distance relationship.
“It’s really difficult, the long distance thing is really difficult. You are just not present in each other’s lives for so much of the time. I’ve never really had a formula for it but I think maybe a two week rule is quite healthy to remember what each other smells like and looks like. I think there’s more of a reason to break up when you don’t see each other but it’s always horrible.”
She went on to say that in a relationship, the most essential thing for her is to make each other laugh. Love and desire fade with time, but keeping a successful relationship requires the capacity to make your spouse laugh. She also told Cosmopolitan that she likes her partner to be smarter than her since she enjoys learning from them.
She, on the other hand, can’t seem to grasp the dating culture in the United States. The Telegraph quoted her as saying:
“I’m so terrified by the prospect! Americans seem to go about it in a different way where they date loads of people at the same time… I’m like, ‘Are you kissing all of them?’ I prefer the UK way, where we just drink near each other and no one knows if it’s a date or not.”
Karen has been linked to Andrew Brooke and Matt Smith, among others. She is also said to have had a six-year relationship with photojournalist Patrick Green.
