Olivia Colman Teams Up with Hollywood Stars to Read King Charles’ Environmental Speeches

In a surprising turn of events, Oscar winner Olivia Colman has joined forces with Hollywood stars to support King Charles in his new project.

The renowned actress, known for her role as the Queen in The Crown, will be among 18 other actors and environmentalists who will read out lines from King Charles’ speeches on the environment spanning over 50 years.

This collaboration will be featured in a short film set to be released today.

The star-studded lineup includes Glenn Close, Woody Harrelson, and Idris Elba, who have all recorded readings of the King’s words.

This initiative marks the launch of a new YouTube channel for his Ari TV website.

Olivia Colman’s decision to support King Charles comes as a surprise, considering her previous outspoken support for Meghan Markle.

Back in 2019, during the launch of The Crown’s third season, Colman criticized the media’s treatment of the Duchess, calling it evil.

She expressed her concern, stating, “It’s just evil, they’re mean to them.”

However, recent scandals involving the Sussexes seem to have changed Colman’s perspective.

From the staged car chase exposed by the New York mayor to the disparaging comments made by major media figures, Meghan and Harry have faced significant backlash.

A-list stars who previously defended the Duchess have now distanced themselves, expressing their anger as more stories unfolded.

Olivia Colman was among those who turned their backs on Meghan and Harry when it was revealed that the actress’s social media account had liked a post denying Meghan’s allegations of racial discrimination within the British royal family.

The post highlighted the couple’s conflicting statements and claimed they had lied more than 17 times during their interview with Oprah.

The new short film, titled “The King’s Speech,” will feature the landmark speech delivered by Prince Charles on February 19, 1970, when he was just 21 years old.

In this speech to the Countryside Steering Committee for Wales, the young Prince predicted the catastrophic impact of plastic waste.

He emphasized the alarming amount of rubbish produced daily and the need to address the mountains of refuse.

A preview clip of the film includes the King’s warning about global warming, climate change, and the loss of biodiversity, which he delivered during the 2020 annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The King’s speech at the COP21 climate change conference in Paris in 2015 is also featured in the video, where he stated, “In damaging our climate, we become the architects of our own destruction.

While the planet can survive, the human race cannot.”

Olivia Colman, in her role as narrator, highlights key themes from the speeches, emphasizing that we possess the knowledge, tools, and resources to combat these environmental challenges, but lack the will to take action.

Other notable figures, such as BBC Gardening presenter Danny Clark, author Charlie Maxey, YouTube environmental campaigner Jack Harries, and climate activist Leah Thomas, also make appearances in the video.

The preview clip concludes with footage from the original RETV launch film in 2020, featuring the King’s hopeful message that there is real hope, but only if we unite and take action together.

In summary, Olivia Colman’s unexpected collaboration with Hollywood stars to read King Charles’ environmental speeches in a new short film showcases a shift in alliances within the entertainment industry.

This initiative aims to raise awareness about pressing environmental issues and inspire individuals to take action.
