Meghan Markle Faces Severe Depression Amidst Criticism Over Political Plea

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is reportedly suffering from serious depression following criticism over her recent political plea to Congress regarding paid parental leave.

The letter, signed by both Meghan and Prince Harry, has sparked controversy due to the Royal Family’s traditional apolitical stance.

As a ceremonial and formal institution, the Royal Family typically refrains from involvement in such matters, leaving political power to others.

Annelise Nielsen, a political reporter and host at Sky News Australia, expressed astonishment at the letter, stating, “It’s hard to understand just how extraordinary this letter is.

For starters, she’s used their royal title, saying it’s from the office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

This goes against centuries of royal protocol.”

Royal commentator Angela Mollard also weighed in on the issue during an interview with the Australian morning program Sunrise.

Mollard noted that while Meghan mentioned her joy and overwhelmment at the birth of her daughter Lilibet, she also highlighted that many families are not as fortunate as hers when it comes to support.

However, Mollard criticized the length of the letter, stating, “Nobody needs to write a letter that long when you’re trying to make a point.”

Meanwhile, Republican Jason Smith in the United States suggested that Meghan and Prince Harry should be stripped of their royal titles due to their interference in US politics.

Smith previously accused the couple of using their foreign titles to campaign against former President Trump and interfere with the US election.

In a statement provided to ITK, Smith questioned why the royal family has not officially stripped Meghan and Harry of their titles, particularly since she insists on using her royal status in her political endeavors.

President Tom Bauer, currently writing a biography of the Duchess, speculated that running for president might be Meghan’s next step.

Bauer pointed out Meghan’s sensitivity to criticism and noted that criticism is an inherent part of politics.

However, he questioned whether Meghan has the stamina to endure the exhausting political landscape and defeat her critics.

In response to the possibility of Meghan running for president in 2024, former President Donald Trump expressed his hope that it would happen, stating that it would strengthen his own desire to run.

Trump also made it clear that he is not a fan of Meghan.

The use of Meghan’s royal title in her letter to US politicians has further fueled the controversy.

One Twitter user referred to the American War of Independence, highlighting that it is the first time an English royal title has been used to lobby politicians in a republic that fought for independence from the crown through a violent revolution in 1776.

This user suggested that diplomatic intervention may be necessary to address the situation.

While some social media users found Meghan’s actions inappropriate, others believe intervention would only be required if she were to involve herself in delicate, divisive, and politically sensitive matters.

Regardless, the issue has sparked a debate about the boundaries of British royalty’s involvement in foreign governments.

Meghan Markle’s political plea has undoubtedly stirred up significant controversy, with critics questioning her use of her royal title and the appropriateness of her involvement in political affairs.

As the discussion continues, it remains to be seen how this latest development will impact Meghan’s public image and her relationship with the Royal Family.
