Title: King Charles III Honors Princess Anne’s Service in 21st Century Monarchy

King Charles III, the new monarch, defied traditional royal rules and bestowed his younger sister, Princess Anne, with her rightful place in the 21st century monarchy.

This remarkable act took place during Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral at Westminster Abbey on Monday.

Walking alongside his wife and consort, Queen Camilla, King Charles led the procession of royals as they solemnly followed the Queen’s coffin into the London church.

Princess Anne, the late monarch’s only daughter, and her husband, Sir Timothy Lawrence, followed closely behind.

Both Charles and Anne had been by their mother’s side when she passed away at Balmoral Castle on September 8.

The Princess Royal then accompanied the coffin on its journey from Scotland to London.

In a heartfelt tribute to her mother, Anne expressed her gratitude for being able to spend the last 24 hours of her mother’s life with her.

She considered it an honor and privilege to accompany her on her final journeys.

Anne also mentioned that witnessing the love and respect shown by many during these journeys was both humbling and uplifting.

Known for their close relationship, Princess Anne played a prominent role in the events mourning her mother’s death.

A royal historian, Gareth Russell, stated that King Charles recognized his sister’s dedicated service to the late Queen and paid tribute to it during the funeral service.

Russell, a biographer and commentator, shared this insight as a guest on the Royal E.U.S.

podcast.

He revealed that King Charles aimed to give his sister a place of honor and wanted the older royals to feel at ease.

By doing so, he demonstrated that Princess Anne is truly his confidante.

Russell also highlighted Princess Anne’s admirable charitable work and acknowledged the heartbreak she experienced upon her mother’s passing.

Furthermore, the historian suggested that King Charles was breaking away from archaic royal rules that prioritized male royals over their female counterparts.

Despite being the Queen’s second child, Princess Anne falls behind her two younger brothers and their children in the line of succession.

This is due to the long-standing protocol of male primogeniture, which governed the royal family from the Act of Settlement of 1701 until 2013 when the Queen changed the law to ensure equal rights to the throne for both sons and daughters of the monarch.

Russell emphasized that Anne’s prominent position was a deliberate effort to eliminate the precedence given to male members of the family over their sisters.

For the first time, a female member of the royal family marched behind the coffin.

In addition to accompanying her mother on her final journey, Princess Anne made history by performing a rare ritual during the Vigil of the Princes at St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh on September 12.

Traditionally, only male members of the royal family stood guard around their relatives’ caskets as they lay in state.

However, Anne became the first woman to participate in this solemn duty, standing alongside her brothers, Charles, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward.

The siblings were supported by the royal company of archers, who maintained a constant vigil over the Queen’s casket.

Expressing her gratitude for the support and understanding offered to King Charles as he embraced his added responsibilities as monarch, Princess Anne commended her dear brother.

Despite the recent loss, Anne has already resumed her duties as commodore-in-chief Portsmouth, where she expressed her appreciation to the armed forces who participated in the state event.

In this role, she officially abolished the last title of the Sussexes.

While Princess Anne continues to demonstrate her tireless work ethic, rumors suggest that King Charles III may consider permanently exiling Prince Harry from England.

This speculation arises amidst ongoing discussions about the future roles and responsibilities of the royal family.

In conclusion, King Charles III’s decision to honor Princess Anne’s service and grant her a prominent place within the 21st century monarchy is a significant departure from traditional royal norms.
