Earl Spencer Rejects Sussex’s Plea to Use Spencer as Surname

Earl Spencer, the uncle of Prince Harry and brother of Princess Diana, has firmly rejected the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s request to adopt the Spencer title as their new surname.

The couple had expressed their desire to distance themselves from the Windsor name and align themselves more closely with Diana’s family name.

However, Earl Spencer, who has witnessed how Harry and Meghan have capitalized on their royal connections for financial gain, quickly dismissed their plea.

It is evident that Harry’s motives extend beyond a simple tribute to his late mother.

Critics argue that he is exploiting Diana’s legacy to further his own interests and seek sympathy.

Earl Spencer, aware of this manipulation, is unwilling to let the couple exploit the Spencer name in the same way.

Royal author Tom Bauer sheds light on Meghan’s long-standing fascination with Princess Diana, stating that her ultimate goal was to become the new Diana.

Bauer reveals that Meghan had even proposed dropping the Windsor name and adopting the surname Spencer, envisioning herself as Meghan Spencer, the modern-day Diana.

This plan had been discussed not only between Harry and Meghan but also with others in their inner circle.

The couple’s rebranding efforts have faced significant challenges, with their Netflix deal reportedly suffering as a result.

Furthermore, Prince Harry had allegedly been warned by his uncle, Earl Spencer, against marrying Meghan Markle back in 2018.

Spencer, who has been married three times himself, advised his nephew to reconsider the haste of his decision, which ultimately strained their relationship.

Earl Spencer’s opposition to Meghan Markle stems from his belief that she possesses a malevolent nature.

He sees through her facade and refuses to allow her to use the Spencer name.

This rejection signifies the deep-rooted animosity between the two parties.

In addition to their name change aspirations, recent reports suggested that Meghan Markle was set to become a brand ambassador for Dior.

However, these claims have been debunked by a spokesperson for the fashion house, who stated that there have been no contracts, negotiations, or contact with Meghan Markle in recent times.

Dior already boasts a roster of esteemed ambassadors, including Robert Pattinson, Johnny Depp, and Emma Ratajkhanu, leaving no room for Meghan to join their ranks.

As the Sussexes continue to navigate their new path outside the royal family, they face mounting challenges and resistance.

Earl Spencer’s firm stance against their use of the Spencer name underscores the complexities of their rebranding efforts.

It remains to be seen how Harry and Meghan will reshape their public image and establish their own distinct identity.
