Anton Dubecker Slams Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Baby Name as “Nauseating”
Anton Dubecker, the renowned Strictly Come Dancing judge, did not hold back in expressing his disapproval of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s choice of name for their newborn daughter.
During his appearance on Monday’s episode of Steph’s Packed Lunch on 7 June, Dubecker branded the name Lilibet Diana as “nauseating.”
The topic was brought up by host Steph McGovern, who asked the panel for their thoughts on the name, turning to Anton for his opinion.
Initially, Anton attempted to take a diplomatic approach, stating, “the right thing to say is that it’s lovely and that it’s fabulous and that, mm, delighted and well done.”
However, he quickly switched gears and launched into a passionate rant directed at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, expressing his irritation with their choice.

“I find it nauseating and irritating that they have done that,” Anton declared, prompting a surprised reaction from Steph.
Undeterred, Anton continued his tirade, emphasizing, “the thing is I don’t know them but I just want to say oh grow up.
That’s all I want to do because I find it irritating.”
Steph interjected, defending the royal couple’s decision by exclaiming, “but why?
Isn’t it nice?”
Anton promptly fired back, stating, “no, I don’t find it very nice personally, I don’t find it very nice bearing in mind what’s gone on.”
As Anton began to explain further, Steph lightened the mood by playfully remarking, “you know your MBE is out the door now,” causing laughter to erupt in the Channel 4 studio.
Anton acknowledged the Queen’s approval of the name, stating, “if the Queen is happy about it and delighted and it’s all fabulous then great.”
He then admitted, “In that case, he says, then I’m just a misery guts and don’t listen to me.
So I’m delighted for them.
I’m delighted they’ve had the baby.
That’s gorgeous, and everything is fabulous in that department.
But the whole naming thing, I just go oh grow up.”
