Piers Morgan Expresses Gratitude for Sarah Ferguson’s Unexpected Response to Breast Cancer News
Former Good Morning Britain presenter, Piers Morgan, has opened up about his friend Sarah Ferguson’s surprising reaction when he reached out to her after learning about her breast cancer diagnosis.
The renowned talk show host, aged 58, has been friends with the Duchess of York, aged 63, for nearly three decades, making the news of her illness all the more shocking for him.
Upon hearing about Sarah’s diagnosis, Piers immediately texted her, expressing his sympathy and support, saying, “Just seen the news, so sorry you’ve been through such a scary time.
Sending you love and support, and continued success with your treatment.
Time to heal and nurture yourself now.”

Minutes later, Sarah responded, seemingly caught in the moment, “Hopefully caught in time.
Thank you.”
While this exchange may seem ordinary, Piers revealed in his latest column for The Sun that it was the first time he had ever heard Sarah discuss the importance of prioritizing herself over others.
He noted that it took a life-threatening situation for her to adopt this mindset.
Piers wrote, “It’s typical of her to instantly try to turn such a negative experience into a positive, but very atypical of her to suspend her astoundingly selfless instincts and focus on helping herself.
I’m very glad she is, though, because the world is a better place with a healthy and vibrant Sarah Ferguson in it.
She’s one of my favorite people.”
Sarah herself recently appeared on the podcast T-Talks with entrepreneur Sarah Thompson, where she discussed her illness as an opportunity to care for herself instead of constantly trying to fix everyone else.
This newfound perspective reflects her remarkable kindness, empathy, generosity, modesty, sense of humor, and unwavering loyalty that Piers admires.
In his column, Piers also recalled how the late Princess Diana had supported Sarah when he first met her in 1996.
