Marvel Fans Were Tricked as Chris Hemsworth Never Kissed Natalie Portman in Their Intimate Scene From Thor 2

Marvel Studios has a penchant for surprising its fans in unique ways.

The studio has once again outdone itself by tricking its audience in Thor 2’s key scene.

The second installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) blockbuster franchise featured an intimate scene between Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth.

However, what many fans didn’t know is that the actor who played Portman’s character during the kiss was not Portman herself.

The MCU is known for its celebrity cameos, and many actors have made appearances on its screens over the years.

Some of the most memorable cameo appearances in the MCU were by the late Stan Lee.

In addition, Elsa Pataky, Hemsworth’s wife, also appeared in several MCU projects.

Pataky has made three cameo appearances in the Thor franchise to date, making her one of the most entertaining cameo appearances in the MCU.

She first appeared in Thor: The Dark World as one of the Sakaaran nurses attending Thor’s injuries after his fight with the Hulk.

In Thor: Ragnarök, she appeared briefly in 2017.

Later, she played the lover interest of the God of Thunder during his galactic adventure in Thor: Love and Thunder.

In the montage, she appeared as Wolf Woman, riding a giant wolf with Thor.

Thor: Love and Thunder almost became a family film after casting the family members of the primary characters and director Taika Waititi.

Hemsworth said, “They really wanted to be in it.

Taika had his children in there.

Christian Bale had his.

Natalie had her kids, as well.”

He added that filming the movie with family was a “fun, one-off family experience.”

Out of all her Thor appearances, Pataky’s appearance in Thor: The Dark World created an instantaneous buzz.

In the post-credit scene, Portman’s character, Jane Foster, shared a steamy kiss with the God of Thunder.

However, it was not Portman who kissed Hemsworth but Pataky.

Portman was unavailable to shoot the scene due to her scheduling conflicts with other projects.

Therefore, Pataky became the stunt double, kissing Hemsworth in the scene as Foster.

The makers used tricky camera angles and edits to make it look like Portman’s character was in the passionate kiss with Thor’s mortal girlfriend.

“It was such a perfect solution, wasn’t it,” Portman told Daily News.

“It was for reshoots, and he was working in Hong Kong, and I couldn’t get there because I was working on my own film.

And so they put his wife in my wig and costume; that’s why it was so passionate.”

Chris Hemsworth, 39, and Elsa Pataky, 46, have been married since 2010 and share three children together: daughter India Rose Hemsworth and twin sons Sasha Hemsworth and Tristan Hemsworth.

The MCU has never been shy about incorporating its actors’ personal lives into its storylines.

In this case, the studio took it up a notch by using Hemsworth’s real-life wife as a stunt double for one of the franchise’s most memorable scenes.

With the fourth installation of the Thor franchise set to release soon, fans can only wait to see what surprises Marvel Studios has in store for them.
