Tom Hardy “damaged his body” with movie transformations

Tom Hardy, the famous actor known for his roles in movies such as The Dark Knight Rises and Warrior has admitted that his career has left his body “damaged”.

Although Hardy’s recent near-n^de scenes in the BBC drama Taboo caused quite a stir, he has revealed that his extensive body transformations for his roles have taken a toll on him physically.

During the early stages of his career, Tom was slim, as seen in his movies Layer Cake and HBO’s Band of Brothers.

However, as his career grew, so did his muscles.

He was asked to bulk up for his role as Charles Bronson, an MMA fighter in Warrior and Bane in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises.

Despite being in great shape, Hardy stated that his brutal training regime has scarred him for life.

Hardy is now in the process of preparing for a new mobster role which might require him to pack on some pounds.

Speaking to The Daily Beast, he explained: “It’s not the classic Al Capone that you necessarily envision with the silhouette…I don’t want to give too much away about it, but there’s definitely a transformation with that role.

I don’t know if it’s as drastic as Bane.

I’ve probably damaged my body too much.

I’m only little.

If I keep putting on weight I’ll collapse like a house of cards under too much pressure.”

After the completion of a film, Tom claims that he is tired, and has to change his shape to go back to his normal size for his next role.

This extreme fluctuation between two different weights has caused him aches and pains.

Hardy said: “To go from one extreme to another has a cost…I’m certainly a bit achier than I used to be…

I certainly have joints that click that probably shouldn’t click, you know what I mean?

And carrying my children is a little bit harder than it used to be – but don’t tell them.”

Tom Hardy is married to Charlotte Riley and has a son named Louis from his previous girlfriend Rachael Speed.

He recently took some time out of his busy schedule to read the bedtime story on CBeebies.

Hardy’s decision to take on roles that require extreme weight changes isn’t uncommon in Hollywood.

Actors such as Christian Bale and Jake Gyllenhaal have also undergone similar transformations for their movie roles.

However, this puts an immense amount of pressure on actors’ bodies and can leave them with long-lasting health problems if they are not careful.

Despite the risks, actors will continue to push themselves to the limit for their art.

Hardy is currently filming for his new Al Capone role, which he hopes won’t cause too much strain on his body.

His fans are eager to see his transformation and how he will bring this character to life on the big screen.
