Meghan and Harry Accused of Destroying British Image Through Royal Attack Campaign

Former London Assembly chairman and journalist Sir Trevor Phillips has accused Meghan Markle and Prince Harry of squandering an opportunity to showcase Britain’s credentials in tackling racism.

Sir Trevor said the couple instead constructed a “ridiculous story” about how badly they had been treated.

Speaking 75 years after the Windrush brought the first immigrants from the Caribbean to the UK, Sir Trevor said British society had changed enormously since then.

He added that Meghan and Harry could have been a beacon of discovery and reconciliation, not just to Britain, but to the whole world.

Instead, they completely squandered a golden opportunity to show everyone what this country is really like and matters.

Sir Trevor believes that Meghan and Harry’s allegations against the British Royals, which led to them quitting Britain for California, were unfounded and that no one believes their story.

Sir Trevor pointed out that there are more black and ethnic minority people than high ministerial offices here in the EU put together.

He also mentioned that our Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, is a proudly practicing Hindu, while the Scottish First Minister, Humza Yousaf, is a Muslim.

Sir Trevor acknowledged that it is not all plain sailing, but Britain is light years ahead of the difficulties faced by the Windrush generation.

Sir Trevor puts our progress and his optimism for the future down to a national curiosity and interest in warmth about other people under certain conditions.

He believes that one must look like they are doing a fair day’s work, want to get on with their neighbors, and not tell them how to live their lives.

Such an open attitude may explain why last week a survey by the think tank British Future revealed that 80% of those from ethnic minority backgrounds consider our country a better place to live than any other country in the West.

Sir Trevor also highlighted that Britain’s black society has changed beyond recognition since the early immigration of the 40s, 50s, and 60s.

The British African population of 1.5 million is now more than double the British Caribbean population and brings an extra pizzazz.

Black Africans have a different mentality, according to Sir Trevor, as they don’t see their skin color as a burden.

Sir Trevor’s own family arrived from British Guiana in 1950.

He recalled that his father had to walk the streets looking for somewhere to sleep.

The youngest of ten, Sir Trevor was born in 1953 and lived with his family in two rooms in a house in Finsbury Park, London, and another family upstairs until his overstretched mother sent him and a couple of siblings back to an aunt in British Guiana until he was six.

When he was 11, he won a scholarship to an elite London school, now City of London Boys, despite his mistress advising his parents not to send him, stating that he would feel out of place and uncomfortable there.

Sir Trevor believes that Meghan and Harry could have made a difference for millions of people but chose not to.

He sees it as a sin and unforgivable.

He also highlighted that it is impossible to imagine having a law in England about what a woman could wear on her head.

Britain’s progress in tackling racism has been significant, and Sir Trevor believes that the country is a better place to live than any other country in the West for those from ethnic minority backgrounds.

In conclusion, Sir Trevor Phillips believes that Meghan and Harry’s allegations against the British Royals were unfounded and that they squandered an opportunity to showcase Britain’s credentials in tackling racism.
