Harry and Meghan’s Podcast Trademark Application Denied

The US Patent and Trademark Office has denied Harry and Meghan’s trademark application for their podcast name, Archetypes.

The couple requested exclusive rights to the name for anything addressing cultural treatment of women and stereotypes facing women.

However, the request was rejected due to an existing trademark by Arizona firm Archetypes LLC.

The firm sought exclusive use in 2015 for a series of books and articles about nutrition, fitness, sexuality, psychological self-improvement and more.

The couple’s lawyer, Marjorie Whitter-Norman of Los Angeles firm Wilkie Farr & Gallagher, has applied for another three months to finesse the Archetypes application.

It was also discovered that both Harry and Meghan failed to sign their own application to the regulatory body, making the process even more complicated.

This news comes after Spotify announced that the Archetypes podcast would not be renewed for a second season as the audio company begins to make changes and revamp its output.

Twitter exploded with responses to accusations that Meghan had allegedly manipulated some interviews.

Pod News reported that multiple insiders claimed that staff members conducted several interviews later editing in Markle’s questions.

The news ignited a flurry of Twitter reactions, with users expressing a wide range of sentiments from scepticism and outrage to staunch support for Meghan.

One user tweeted that it was a fake production that snagged real awards.

Another user pointed out the mysterious social media disappearance of Alison Yarrow, who had previously tweeted thanks to Farrow for being a remarkable interviewer, implying that Markle was not involved in the interviewing process.

A third Twitter user stated that it was about time Meghan was slammed and put in her place.

It seems that Meghan is seeking to make a comeback after Spotify cancelled her deal.

However, she and Prince Harry also face rumours that the Netflix partnership could experience a similar fate.

To polish up her image, Meghan seems to have decided to use a public relations team.

Newsweek noted that this goal has become challenging amid rumours that the Netflix partnership is in trouble.

When Harry and Meghan first revealed their plan to become podcasters in December of 2020, it seemed as if the Sussex couple had struck gold.

That deal, along with a Netflix contract, made their financial future look promising.

But after multiple delays in delivering content, Spotify ended the contract, and Bill Simmons, who heads up the podcast innovation and monetisation at Spotify, described Meghan and Harry as “effing grifters.”

Amid those troubles, Meghan reportedly gathered a publicity team to generate more upbeat stories.

Evidence came in reports that Markle might strike a deal with the fashion house Dior.

Unfortunately, Dior quickly denied the rumour.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Harry and Meghan’s media ventures, but it seems that they will need to overcome some significant obstacles to regain their footing in the industry.
