Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, stars of the ‘Twilight’ franchise, have revealed that their s** scene in the film was originally too steamy to receive a PG-13 rating.

During their promotional tour for Breaking Dawn – Part 1, the on-screen lovers shared that the scene had to be reshot because it showed too much skin for the studio’s liking.

The actors also discussed how they felt about getting intimate in front of cameras.

While appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2011, Pattinson and Stewart joked about the reason for the reshoot being one of them revealing a little too much “b*tt crack” in the scene.

Pattinson went on to suggest that the director simply edited the crack out, as it was the part that pushed the movie over the PG-13 rating.

At the time of the interview, the couple was dating in real life, having sparked a romance while working on The Twilight Saga.

Their relationship fell apart a year later when Stewart was caught kissing her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

Although they briefly reconciled, the pair ultimately parted ways in 2013.

In 2015, during an interview, Stewart stated that she and Pattinson were set up to fail from the start since their s** scene had to be transcendent and better than anything imaginable.

She added that performing the scene was pure agony, as she wanted to create an amazing scene and impress fans.

However, she has no problem with doing s** scenes in movies, as long as they seem natural and not contrived.

Pattinson also opened up about the s** scenes in the franchise and how it was difficult making a PG-13 s** scene that was supposed to be out of this world.

He explained that a lot of the scenes were just close-ups on him and Stewart’s faces, but there was no one else around.

Despite his best efforts to look like he was in pure ecstasy, even the camera guys couldn’t help but laugh at the setup.

Although the couple split amid a cheating scandal, they are on much better terms these days.

Stewart recently expressed excitement that Pattinson landed the lead role in Matt Reeves’ upcoming film, The Batman, and could not wait to see him as Bruce Wayne.

There has been talk of a Twilight spin-off, but Pattinson and Stewart are not expected to reprise their roles.
