‘Ghostbusters’ Star Dan Aykroyd Recalls Ray’s s** Scene With a Ghost in the First Movie

The latest installment of the Ghostbusters franchise, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, has been a hit at the box office.

However, it’s important to remember the original film that started it all back in 1984.

Although it was marketed as a family-friendly comedy, the film had several adult-level moments that were not suitable for children.

One scene that raised eyebrows involved a s**ual encounter between Dan Aykroyd’s character, Ray Stantz, and a ghost.

In the scene, Ray is lying in bed at headquarters and begins dreaming about an apparition.

The ghost, played by Kym Herrin, a former Playboy Playmate, hovers above him and undoes his belt buckle.

While the camera pans to Ray’s face, it’s implied that the ghost performs a s**ual act on him.

In a recent interview with Polygon, Aykroyd shared his thoughts on the scene and wished it would have lasted longer.

Aykroyd explained that s**ual encounters with spirits are not uncommon and that some people choose to live with them rather than try to purge them.

His interest in ghosts stems from his family’s history of dabbling in the supernatural.

His paternal great-grandfather held seances and kept a journal of his activities during the early 1900s.

Aykroyd’s father, Peter, also wrote a book called A History of Ghosts, in which he detailed his experiences growing up and witnessing paranormal events around their home.

During the interview, Aykroyd was asked if ghosts in the fictional containment unit still had human feelings about love or intimacy.

He suggested that ghosts may retain some remnants of their consciousness and that the amalgam of their psychology might blend so that they can hum for years.

However, he feared that there might be some vestiges of residual consciousness left, making the containment unit a prison.

For those looking to re-watch the original Ghostbusters, it’s not currently available on Hulu or Netflix.

However, it can be rented on Amazon, Vudu, and YouTube for a small fee.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is only showing in theaters for the rest of 2021.

In conclusion, Aykroyd’s recent interview sheds light on the adult-level moments in the original Ghostbusters film.

Despite its marketing as a family-friendly comedy, the film had several scenes containing s**ual imagery that were not appropriate for children.

Aykroyd’s interest in ghosts stems from his family’s history of dabbling in the supernatural, and he believes that spirits may retain some remnants of their consciousness.

The original Ghostbusters film is not currently available on popular streaming platforms, but it can be rented on Amazon, Vudu, and YouTube.
