After three years together, Elon Musk and Grimes have called it quits.

Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, revealed to Page Six that he and the Canadian singer are semi-separated and on good terms.

Elon told Page Six, “We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms. It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in LA. She’s staying with me now and Baby X is in the adjacent room.”

Musk and Grimes began dating in May 2018. In May 2020, they welcomed their son X A-Xii Musk into the world.

Musk and Grimes made their relationship public when Grimes, a musician and producer, invited Musk to the Met Gala as her date — Page Six claimed at the time that they had been “quietly dating” for a few weeks. The pair met on Twitter in 2018 when Musk was planning a joke about artificial intelligence and discovered Grimes had beaten him to the punch with a character from her music video “Flesh Without Blood.”

They were last spotted together on September 13 at the Met Gala, when Grimes, 33, walked the red carpet alone before being joined by Musk inside.

He subsequently hosted a star-studded Met Gala afterparty at Zero Bond, where he was joined by Grimes, and the two were spotted departing New York together the next day.

Grimes, 33, and Elon, 50, had their first child together in May 2020, on the day the Met Gala was set to take place.

“Mom & baby all good,” Elon said in a tweet on May 4 to announce the news.

Grimes has stated that having a child with Musk has opened up a whole new realm of creativity for her.

“I think having a baby was a big kind of like rebirth for me, like artistically. Like, it just like, I don’t know,” she told Vogue while getting ready for the Met Gala.

Musk attended a party hosted by Google co-founder Sergey Brin’s wife, Nicole Shanahan, by himself last weekend.

Grimes has defended Musk’s fortune, political donations, and treatment of workers in public. Grimes was also accidentally embroiled in Musk’s battle with the Securities and Exchange Commission in August 2018 over his controversial “funding secured” tweet. They appeared to split up soon after, but they quickly reconciled, and they married in January 2020.

The pair were seen leaving their NYC hotel together earlier this month.

Musk was previously married to novelist Justine Wilson, with whom he has five sons: Griffin and Xavier, 17 years old, and Damian, Saxon, and Kai, 15, who are triplets.

He’s also married twice to Westworld actress Talulah Riley and had a year-long relationship with Amber Heard.

Grimes has been updating followers on family life via social media, including uploading a photo from their summer vacation to Italy.

Earlier this year, the “Genesis” singer supported Elon in the face of internet criticism. In April, a fan posted on TikTok, “GRIMESSS. HOW ARE YOU DOING THIS AND ACTIVLEY [sic] SLEEP1NG WITH THE MAN WHO LOTERALLY [sic] DESTROY THE PLANET AND HUMANITY.”

“How is he doing these things?” Grimes remarked in response. “His whole career is about making travel/house power etc sustainable and green. It’s worth a deep dive.”

Meanwhile, Grimes is currently filming a new Fox drama called “Alter Ego,” in which she plays a judge.
