Zendaya Wore a Custom Spiderweb Dress for the ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Premiere
Every small detail and Easter egg counts when it comes to advertising a Spider-Man film. So far, Zendaya appears to have understood the assignment.
The star wore a handmade Valentino gown with spiderweb embroidery and a high side split that showed off her legs at the Los Angeles premiere of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” on Monday night.
But the on-theme moment didn’t end there. Pierpaolo Piccioli, the Creative Director of Valentino, also developed a face mask with rich details to emphasize Zendaya’s status as a glamorous superhero.
She donned a geometric black, blue, and white cat-eye look with a nude lip below the mask.
The actress accessorized with Stuart Weitzman sequin pumps and Bulgari gems totaling roughly 27.84 carats. She wore the gold house’s 9.71-carat drop earrings with two gorgeous rings.

According to one Twitter user, the garment looks to be inspired by John Galliano’s spring 1997 design, which was included in a superhero-themed show at the Met.

Law Roach outfitted Tom Holland, the hero of the Spider-Man franchise, for the event, and he looked dashing on the red carpet in a classic chocolate suit specially tailored by Prada. He, like Z, used Louboutins as his go-to footwear.

This isn’t Zendaya’s first press tour appearance in a Spider-Man-inspired ensemble. Her Ballon D’Or photo call dress converted a basic LBD into a Doctor Octopus homage, and she donned spiderweb earrings to a London picture call.
She attended a screening of “Dune” in London in October wearing a dazzling, futuristic off-white Rick Owens gown. Zendaya also wore a Moschino two-piece ensemble inspired by Lola Bunny for the premiere of “Space Jam: A New Legacy” in July.
To a photocall earlier in December, the actor wore an Alexander McQueen jacket with crystal embroidery and a pair of black thigh-high boots. The celebrity appeared to emulate Venom, one of the most iconic villains from the “Spider-Man” world, as Samantha Grindell of Insider previously reported.
Zendaya noted that fashion has been a “creative outlet” for her and a “extension of all the reasons why I love acting” as she accepted her award as the CFDA’s 2021 fashion icon.
Zendaya cements her place as a fashion star — the youngest in history, according to the CFDA — with the right combination of high fashion and Marvel allusions.
On Friday, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” will be released in cinemas.
