How Rita Moreno caught Marlon Brando cheating

Rita Moreno is a Puerto Rican actress and singer who has been a mainstay in Hollywood for over seven decades.

In a recent interview with Esquire, Moreno spoke about her life and experiences in the spotlight, including her relationship with Marlon Brando in the 1950s. Moreno described the relationship as “extremely sensual,” but also noted that it ultimately ended due to Brando’s infidelity.

Moreno met Brando in the 1950s, when both were rising stars in Hollywood. Brando had just won his first Academy Award for his role in “On the Waterfront,” and Moreno was making a name for herself with her singing and dancing abilities.

The two quickly became involved in a passionate relationship, but Moreno soon became suspicious of Brando’s fidelity.

“I found somebody’s lingerie in Marlon’s house one time, and I was just devastated,” Moreno remembered. “Literally the next day, I get a phone call.”

The call was from Elvis Presley’s agent, who told Moreno that Presley had seen her and was interested in pursuing a relationship. Moreno decided to pursue it, but Brando was not pleased when he found out.

“Marlon found out about it, and boy, was he upset. Mind you, he’s the one who had the ladies’ underwear at his house. He got insanely angry. He was throwing chairs, and it was wonderful,” Moreno said.

The relationship between Moreno and Brando ultimately fizzled out, and Moreno moved on to other relationships.

She famously dated Elvis Presley for a brief period, but her longest relationship was with cardiologist Leonard Gordon, whom she married in 1965. The couple remained married until Gordon’s death in 2010.

In her interview with Esquire, Moreno also spoke about the challenges of being a celebrity and the constant scrutiny that comes with it. She noted that infidelity was a common cause of the breakdown of relationships, both for celebrities and everyday people.

“The lack of privacy and the constant speculation over whether or not a person is being faithful can add extra pressure to celebrity relationships,” Moreno said.

Despite the challenges, Moreno has remained a successful and respected figure in Hollywood for over 70 years. She has won numerous awards, including an Academy Award for her role in “West Side Story,” and continues to work regularly, most recently in the successful reboot of “One Day at a Time.”

At 89 years old, Moreno remains a force in the entertainment industry and an inspiration to many. Her long and storied career is a testament to her talent, resilience, and determination.
