Dakota Johnson is a well-known actress who made her cinematic debut at the age of ten in the dark comedy “Crazy in Alabama.”

However, she is perhaps most recognized for her role in the Fifty Shades film trilogy, in which she played Anastasia Steele opposite Jamie Dornan’s Christian Grey from 2015 to 2018.

During her appearance on Wednesday’s episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden, Johnson made a humorous reference to her raunchy screen past.

When walking onto the stage in a red mini-dress, Johnson felt self-conscious and crossed her legs while attempting to hide her thighs with her hands.

Corden graciously offered Johnson his jacket to protect her modesty, asking if she was okay. Johnson replied with a laugh, saying, “I’m okay. It’s nothing nobody hasn’t already seen.”

This reference was apparently to Johnson’s role in the Fifty Shades movies, in which she appeared nked in several racy sex scenes.

However, Johnson refused to use a body double because she believes nud ity is beautiful and wanted to be true and honest to the role.

Johnson also stripped off while filming semi-nud sequences for her 2021 thriller The Lost Daughter, which is currently available on Netflix.

In an interview with W Magazine this month, she shared her experience on set, saying, “It is difficult. Some days, I don’t want to take off my clothes on set.”

Despite this, Johnson explained that she wants to be true and honest to the characters she portrays.

She said, “Just because I look a certain way doesn’t mean I don’t have feelings. And my character, Nina, is almost bored by her appearance. She has reached a point in her life where her hotness doesn’t match who she is anymore.”

Johnson is the granddaughter of Alfred Hitchcock heroine Tippi Hedren and the daughter of veteran Hollywood icons Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith.

Despite sometimes feeling self-conscious about taking her clothes off in movies, Johnson is committed to giving her roles her all and being honest to the characters she portrays.
