Channing Tatum hated carrying Salma Hayek around on set
Actor Channing Tatum has revealed that filming certain scenes with Salma Hayek Pinault in the upcoming film “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” was “awkward” for him, as she was one of his first crushes.
The movie, which is the third and final installment in the “Magic Mike” series, is set to hit theaters on February 10, 2023.
According to a profile on Tatum published by Vanity Fair, the movie’s opening scene features Tatum’s character, Mike Lane, performing a strip routine while grinding on a character played by Hayek Pinault.
When asked if it was uncomfortable for him to “bury his face in Mrs. François-Henri Pinault’s crotch and carry her around a room with her legs wrapped around his neck,” Tatum replied “Hell yes.”

Despite his experience as a stripper and playing one in the previous “Magic Mike” films, Tatum admitted that filming these scenes with Hayek Pinault was a unique experience for him.
“I mean, she was one of my first crushes,” he said. “But I do have to say that’s almost the comfort zone for me.”
In “Magic Mike’s Last Dance,” Tatum reprises his role as Mike Lane, a Florida-based stripper who decides to put on a show in London.
The performance is financed by Hayek Pinault’s character, Maxandra Mendoza, a wealthy divorcée who becomes enchanted by Lane’s strip routine.
Tatum has previously spoken about his experience as a stripper, saying that it was a formative period of his life.
“It’s where I learned how to perform, how to be on stage,” he said. “I was always the shy kid, and it was a great place for me to find myself.”
Despite the awkwardness of filming certain scenes with Hayek Pinault, Tatum is excited for audiences to see “Magic Mike’s Last Dance.”
“It’s been an amazing journey, and I think this movie is going to be a fitting end to the series,” he said.
The first “Magic Mike” film was released in 2012, and was a huge box office success. The sequel, “Magic Mike XXL,” was released in 2015 and also performed well at the box office.
Fans of the series have been eagerly awaiting the final installment, and are excited to see how the story concludes.
