Madonna once suffered loss of staff, as five of her employees resigned.

Two personal assistants, two nannies, and a chauffeur all cited long working hours as the reason for their departure.

This news comes as a surprise to none, as it is well-known that Madonna’s staff are required to work incredibly long hours.

Australian nanny Angela Jacobson was one of the employees who resigned. After handing in her notice to the singer, she was immediately told to leave.

Another nanny, Elodie, who had worked alongside Angela to care for Madonna’s three children, Lourdes, 12, Rocco, 8, and adopted David, 3, also quit.

Personal assistants Denise Lambertson and Johanna Edholm, and chauffeur Alistair Mitchell, who had been Madonna’s driver for seven years, also resigned.

In a Facebook post, Angela wrote, “Not putting up with this s**t anymore. Never have, never will. Standing up for my rights regardless of consequence. Sick of always being the one who compromise.”

Angela, who was contracted to work until the end of June, was reportedly shocked when she was told to pack her bags almost immediately after revealing her plans to leave.

A source close to the situation said, “Angela was with her for two years and was particularly close to David. He and Rocco are devastated she is leaving. And Elodie, who’s been with Madonna for about 15 months, was also close to the children.”

Personal assistant Denise is due to finish working for Madonna this week, and Johanna quit saying that she lost a boyfriend due to Madonna’s work demands.

Alistair left Madonna to drive her ex-husband Guy Ritchie.

The loss of staff comes at a difficult time for Madonna, as she is currently in Malawi, Southern Africa, in an attempt to adopt a new child.

The singer has spent the past three months negotiating with authorities to adopt three-year-old female orphan, Mercy James, as a sister for David, who is also from Malawi.

Madonna has now taken on French nanny Audrey Wrightson as a short-term replacement for the staff that have left.

However, the loss of five employees will undoubtedly be a significant blow to the singer and her household.
