CeeLo Green says rape isn’t rape if the victim is not conscious

Singer Cee-Lo Green has sparked controversy with his recent remarks regarding a court case where he pleaded no contest to supplying ecstasy to a woman.

Green’s comments were shared in a series of tweets that were later deleted, but not before they were captured by a Twitter user.

The incident in question took place in 2012 when Green dined with a woman at a sushi restaurant.

She later claimed to have no memory of the events between dinner and waking up naked in Green’s bed.

The woman accused Green of sexual assault, but the charges were not filed due to a lack of evidence.

In his tweets, Green stated: “People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!” and “If someone is passed out they’re not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent”.

He also stated, “When someone brakes on a home there is broken glass where is your plausible proof that anyone was raped.”

These comments sparked widespread criticism, with many taking issue with Green’s suggestion that consent is implied in unconscious individuals.

Green was sentenced to three years probation and 45 days of community service for supplying ecstasy.

In response to the backlash, Green issued an apology on Monday through a series of tweets.

He stated, “I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context … I’d never condone the harm of any women.”

However, the damage had already been done, and Green subsequently deleted his Twitter account.

As a former judge on the American talent show “The Voice,” Green is well-known for his international hit songs, such as “Crazy” and “Fuck You.”
