Charlie Sheen pays off woman he exposed to HIV after lawsuit

Charlie Sheen has reached a settlement in a 2017 lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, who alleged that he exposed her to HIV.

The 56-year-old actor will pay the woman, referred to as Jane Doe, a total of $120,000 in $10,000 monthly installments over the course of a year, according to documents filed in the LA County Superior Court.

Sheen publicly disclosed his HIV-positive status in November 2015.

Jane Doe, who remains anonymous, stated in court that she signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with Sheen out of fear when they first met.

The lawsuit, which has embroiled the Two and A Half Men actor for five years, claimed that Sheen engaged in unprotected se with the woman before revealing his HIV-positive status.

TMZ reported that the legal matter has now been resolved.

In 2016, authorities considered investigating Sheen for allegedly exposing several women to the sexually transmitted disease without informing them.

Sheen admitted on the Today show that he had not disclosed his diagnosis to at least two sexual partners but claimed to have used protection during those encounters.

California law prohibits individuals with communicable diseases from willfully exposing others to the disease.

Sheen was diagnosed with HIV around 2011 but did not publicly disclose this information until November 2015.

In 2015, his ex-fiancee, Brett Rossi, filed a lawsuit alleging that Sheen exposed her to HIV and that they had se five times before she discovered his status.

Rossi also claimed to have suffered physical and emotional abuse.

The lawsuit was eventually referred to arbitration. Another of Sheen’s ex-girlfriends, Bree Olson, claimed that he never disclosed his HIV-positive status to her.

Recently, Sheen was seen in Los Angeles promoting his new TV series, Ramble On, by wearing a baseball cap with the show’s logo while running errands.

He announced in March that he would be starring in the new series.

In the meantime, Sheen’s ex-wife Denise Richards opened up about why she left him when she was six months pregnant with their younger daughter, Lola.

Richards filed for divorce in 2005, accusing Sheen of making death threats, shoving her, and endangering their children due to his fondness for prostitutes and pornography.

Speaking on the Dear Media podcast Divorced Not Dead, Richards said, “You know what it was is I said to myself: ‘Would I want my daughters to be married to this man?’ No offense to him but it’s true.”

She added that she believed Sheen would understand her perspective, which led her to question why she accepted such behavior.

Charlie and Denise were married in 2002 and had two daughters, Sami, 18, and Lola, 17.

Richards explained to podcast host Caroline Stanbury that the marriage’s collapse was due to “many things” but she did not regret marrying Sheen, as she believes they were brought together to have their daughters.

She acknowledged that it was not a good marriage or relationship and added, “Well, there’s a lot that the public doesn’t know, and you never know what goes on behind closed doors, so it was not a good situation.”
