Steven Seagal accused of raping teenage actress

Steven Seagal, the Hollywood actor, is facing fresh allegations of sexual assault and rape from Regina Simons, who claims the star attacked her after inviting her to his house following a party at the wrap of his 1994 film “Deadly Ground”.

Simons alleges that Seagal was the only other person in the house and that he raped her.

Simons also alleges that Seagal repeatedly contacted her after the incident.

Another woman, Faviola Dadis, has also accused Seagal of sexual assault, saying she was told the assault would be part of a “private audition” in his hotel room in 2002.

“I was hesitant and expressed this, then he started fondling my breasts and grabbing my crotch”, Dadis wrote in an Instagram post in November.

Simons and Dadis have each filed police reports with the LAPD about their respective allegations against Seagal.

Seagal is yet to respond to either accusation.

Simons claims she told her Mormon bishop about the incident, which her bishop confirmed to The Wrap, but she declined to come forward publicly with allegations against the action star.

She said: “I wasn’t even allowed to date so for me it was a shameful thing. I was like, ‘Oh my God, how could this have happened?’ So, I blamed a lot of it on myself and tried to pretend it didn’t happen.”

The Wrap has also reported that Seagal has a history of inappropriate behaviour, including accusations of sexual harassment, from multiple other women.

Among those to have made allegations against Seagal are the actors Jenny McCarthy, Julianna Margulies and Portia de Rossi.

Simons claims that Seagal contacted her after the rape and that it was Alaniz who eventually told him to stop calling.

Alaniz said that the calls felt predatory and that she believed Seagal was grooming Simons:

“He was a middle-aged man, married at the time, and she was young and naive”.

In a detailed account of the alleged attack, Simons told The Wrap: “He took me into this room and then just closed the door and started kissing me…”

“He then took my clothes off and before I knew it he was on top of me, raping me… I wasn’t sexually active yet… I was crying when he was on top of me.

“Even now, my 43-year-old mind knows how to process this and understand what a loving relationship is and what consensual sex is. And there was none of that.”

Simons said she met Seagal on the set of “Deadly Ground”, which starred the actor alongside Michael Caine.

After the alleged assault, she claims that Seagal contacted her repeatedly, saying:

“All I remember is him asking me if I needed any money… I shook my head and ran towards my car. I cried the whole way home.”

Dadis claimed she had been told the “private audition” would involve Seagal and two other members of the crew, but that when she arrived, only the actor was present.

Seagal allegedly asked Dadis to take off her clothes before fondling her breasts and groping her.

When she protested, she claimed, she was held in the room by a bodyguard before being allowed to leave when she began to scream.

Simons alleges that she did not report the assault at the time because she feared the impact it would have on her career:

“I thought, ‘No one is going to believe me. I can’t tell anybody this. This is Steven Seagal.’”

The allegations come amid the ongoing fallout from the Harvey Weinstein scandal, which has resulted in a series of allegations of sexual misconduct against high-profile figures in the entertainment industry.
