Brooke Shields, the famous actress known for her roles in ‘The Blue Lagoon’ and ‘Pretty Baby,’ is set to release a two-part documentary titled after the latter film, in which she portrayed a child prostitute

In the documentary, Shields will reveal how she was “catapulted into the world of adult sexuality” as a child, and the struggles she faced as she tried to find her own voice and agency.

She stated in the documentary’s trailer, “I was struggling to find my own voice, I wasn’t told it was important to have agency.”

Shields has been referred to as “the most photographed woman in the world,” “an iconic American beauty,” “object of desire,” “sexualized child model,” and “vulnerable” by those interviewed for the documentary.

However, she has finally found her own opinion and voice, which she considers a monumental achievement.

In the documentary trailer, she stated, “Now, it’s like I’m allowed to be a human being.”

The actress also revealed a harrowing incident in the documentary.

She shared that she was raped by a man after they had dinner to discuss her future career. She went up to the man’s hotel room, where he disappeared for a while.

Shields then picked up a pair of binoculars in the room and watched some volleyball players out of the window when the man returned naked and launched his assault.

Shields said, “I just absolutely froze. I thought one ‘No’ should’ve been enough, and I just thought, ‘Stay alive and get out,’ and I just shut it out.”

After the incident, Shields got in a taxi and cried all the way to her friend’s apartment.

She revealed that she told her head of security Gavin de Becker about the incident, but she wasn’t willing to believe that it was rape at the time.

Shields shared that she wrote to her attacker years later, but he didn’t reply. Despite the lack of response, she refused to feel like “a victim” and had “wanted to erase the whole thing from my mind and body and just keep on the path I was on.”

Shields’ experiences as a child actor in ‘Pretty Baby’ and ‘The Blue Lagoon’ are also explored in the documentary.

She appeared naked as a child prostitute with a 29-year-old Keith Carradine in ‘Pretty Baby’ when she was only 11 years old.

At 15, she appeared in two more films, ‘The Blue Lagoon’ and ‘Endless Love,’ that included sex and nudity.

Shields also did a nude photoshoot at the age of 10.

The actress has previously discussed the effect of her early sexualization on her confidence and sex life.

She has stated that she didn’t lose her virginity until she was 22 years old due to a lack of self-confidence.

In her upcoming documentary, she speaks about how she “survived” being sexualized from a young age and how she has finally found her own voice and agency.

Shields’ daughters Rowan and Grier are now 19 and 16 years old, respectively, and she has been married to her director husband Chris Henchy for over two decades.

Shields hopes that her story will help other women who have faced similar challenges.

The documentary will premiere on April 3, and Shields is excited to finally share her story with the world.

She stated, “I’m ready to have these conversations that I wasn’t comfortable having before, and for me to say, ‘I don’t know everything.

I don’t know what you’ve been through. But this is what I’ve been through, and I’m not afraid to talk about it.’”

The actress hopes that her documentary will inspire others to speak up and share their stories as well.
