Clark Gable died because of Marilyn Monroe: He said this
Hollywood legend Clark Gable passed away on November 16, 1960, days after he was hospitalized for a heart attack.
He was best known for his iconic roles in films such as “Gone With the Wind” and “Mutiny on the Bounty”.
During the filming of his last movie, “The Misfits,” Gable made a comment about his co-star Marilyn Monroe that caused some controversy.
According to IMDb, Gable revealed that Monroe nearly gave him a heart attack during a scene where she unexpectedly went topless.
He starred as Gay Langland in the film, while Monroe played the role of Roslyn Taber.

During the filming of “The Misfits,” a doctor was on call 24 hours a day for Monroe and actor Montgomery Clift, who were both struggling with health issues related to alcohol and medical stimulants.
Gable’s poor health was also a concern, and he had already endured serious chest pains twice in the past decade.
On November 6, 1960, Gable was rushed to Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital, where doctors discovered he had suffered a heart attack, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.
The actor’s wife, Kay, had been staying at the hospital since her husband fell ill.
“He appeared to be doing fine,” hospital administrator B.J. Caldwell said.
“He was sitting up, then he put his head back on the pillow and that was that.”
Gable’s death came as a shock to the entertainment industry.
He was one of Hollywood’s highest-paid stars and had won an Oscar for his performance in “It Happened One Night.” He was known in Hollywood circles as a “loner” and was originally from Cadiz, Ohio.
His father, William Gable, was an oil field worker, and his mother, Adeline Hershelman, died when he was just one year old.
Since his mid-teens, Gable had been a chain smoker, which likely contributed to his poor health.
According to IMDb, Monroe blamed herself for Gable’s death, but it should be noted that his poor health was already a concern when filming began.
