Actress Minka Kelly has opened up about her troubled past in her new autobiography, “Tell Me Everything”.

Kelly, 42, shared details about her life, including her experiences of an abusive relationship, an abortion, and being abandoned by her mother, who was a stripper.

Kelly was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, by her mother, Maureen, after her parents split up.

Her father, Rick Dufay, was a former Aerosmith guitarist.

Kelly’s mother left town with her daughter to avoid a potential drug bust, leaving Kelly with her high school boyfriend’s family.

In the excerpts from her memoir obtained by Page Six, Kelly recounted how her then-boyfriend coerced her into making a s^x tape.

The boyfriend later tried to sell the tape to the press.

Kelly said she paid $50,000 to buy the video back.

Her former boyfriend also wanted her to get a tattoo of his name on her body, but Kelly refused.

In fear of being evicted from the home, she agreed to get a tattoo of her lip print “on the side of my pubic mound”.

She admitted that she was “too ashamed to admit the truth” and “had been so dependent on a man” that she let him brand her.

Kelly claimed that her boyfriend repeatedly called her a “slut” over her dress sense and wanted her to have s^x with a female friend.

When she refused, he had s^x with the friend in front of her, and she later found out that she was pregnant.

When Kelly’s mother returned to town, she suggested raising the baby together, but Kelly couldn’t imagine bringing a baby into the situation.

She later underwent an abortion.

Kelly also revealed that her mother went to jail for a short period for transporting drugs for her boyfriend David by driving a car across the Mexican border.

David later beat Kelly after she used his car without permission.

Kelly said she held back her urge to tell her mom and David to “go f*** themselves” and finished high school before moving to LA to reunite with her father.

She worked as a surgeon’s assistant while modeling and taking acting lessons, eventually landing her breakout role on Friday Night Lights in 2006.

Kelly had a difficult relationship with her mother, who moved in with her and her boyfriend at one point.

Kelly’s mother refused to get out of bed and asked for $5,000, leading to Kelly kicking her out.

They later reconciled, and Kelly moved her mother to Austin, Texas, so she could care for her during her treatment for colon cancer.

Kelly also revealed that she underwent IVF with an unnamed boyfriend, but she tragically had a miscarriage.

After she and her boyfriend split, Kelly had ketamine treatments, which helped her realize that she had been “operating in my adult relationships like that scared sixteen-year-old girl.”

Kelly said that she sometimes believes her mom “should have aborted her” because she was unprepared to be a mother.

In May 2022, Kelly split with Trevor Noah, and she has been dating Imagine Dragons star Dan Reynolds since late 2022.

Reynolds himself split with his wife, Aja Volkman, of over a decade in September of the same year.

Reynolds shares four children with his ex-wife, and during their marriage, they had three daughters – Arrow, and twins Gia and Coco – and one son – Valentine.

In 2018, Reynolds and Volkman announced their split but never went through the divorce proceedings.

They reconciled that year and later co-wrote a song titled “Bad Liar”.

“I am saddened to say that after many beautiful years together Aja and I have separated,” Reynolds said in a tweet posted in September.

“Being great parents to our children is our number one priority.

Thank you for always supporting us with love and care for all these years.”

Kelly’s new relationship with Reynolds comes after her split from Trevor Noah, a South African comedian and host of The Daily Show.

Kelly and Noah dated on and off for two years.
