Henry Cavill refused to get n/ked for The Witcher

Henry Cavill, star of the Netflix series The Witcher, reportedly pushed back against certain n/de scenes in the show.

According to FandomWire, Cavill objected to s** scenes that he didn’t feel served the story, and he felt that these scenes should be emotional rather than s**ual.

Last year, it was reported that Cavill would be leaving the show after disagreements about how true the series was to the source material.

However, it now appears that disagreements over intimate scenes may have also contributed to Cavill’s departure.

The scenes in question were between Cavill’s character, Geralt of Rivia, and Anya Chalotra’s character, Yennefer.

Cavill reportedly objected to the scenes because he felt that Geralt and Yennefer didn’t have that kind of relationship.

“We wanted it to be emotional rather than s**ual,” said Cavill.

“It was really, really important, and we had to lean away from what was originally on the page.”

Chalotra reportedly wanted to rehearse the intimate scenes beforehand, which was another turnoff for Cavill.

He maintains that if a s** scene is necessary, it should be largely improvised.

“If one rehearses, then it takes some of the magic out of the moments,” he said.

Showrunner Lauren Hissrich claims to agree with Cavill 100%, despite the script saying differently.

She said in a recent interview that she doesn’t consider n/de scenes to be an important part of The Witcher and that using such scenes gratuitously was “cheap.”

Fans have speculated about why Cavill left The Witcher, with some suggesting that he was leaving to play Superman again.

However, this theory has been debunked.

Another theory was that Cavill wanted The Witcher to be closer to the books and video games that the show was based on.

Yet another theory was that he was burnt out after working overseas and keeping up with the grueling schedule that The Witcher demanded.

While it’s possible that all these reasons contributed to Cavill’s departure, some people claim that he was fired.

An anonymous transcript from someone who worked on the series claims that Cavill was let go from The Witcher for creating a toxic work environment.

The memo cites Cavill as “impossible” to work with and claims that he treated the women involved with the production less than respectfully.

Whatever the reason for Cavill’s departure, he is currently developing a Warhammer 40K series.

It remains to be seen if his absence will affect viewer numbers for The Witcher’s fourth season.
