‘I was a virgin until age 20’ – Rosario Dawson

Actress Rosario Dawson has revealed that she was a virgin until she was 20 years old.

The 35-year-old star of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and founder of the political organisation, Voto Latino, made the admission in an interview with Cosmo for Latinas.

“I was an awkward teenager. I went stag to my prom.

“I was a virgin until I was 20 years old!” Dawson said.

She added that her mother was raising five children on her own and that she did not want to become another teenage pregnancy statistic.

“I wanted more opportunities,” she said.

Dawson’s confession is ironic given that she played a s**ually active teenager in the controversial film Kids.

The 1995 movie, which was directed by Larry Clark and written by Harmony Korine, depicted drug use and casual s** among teenagers in New York City.

Dawson starred as Ruby, a s**ually active girl who is HIV-positive.

Dawson is also a campaigner and has been encouraging young Latinos to vote and become involved in politics through her organisation Voto Latino.

She celebrated the group’s 10th anniversary this year.

In her interview with Cosmo, Dawson said that she “loves romance” and that she is a “touch person”.

She added that she would “love to fall deeply in love with someone, but at the same time it’s not my everything.”

Dawson went on to reveal what it would take to make her fall deeply in love.

“For me, it’s about forethought,” she said.

She recounted how, for her 25th birthday, a former boyfriend had prepared a beautiful bath for her, filling it with flowers and candles.

“He was crazy busy, and he knew I loved a great bath!” she said.

“I remember it was so small but it was so special to me because he thought it through.”

Dawson is known for her activism as well as her acting.

As well as founding Voto Latino, she has worked with the Lower East Side Girls Club in New York City, which aims to empower young women through a variety of activities and mentoring schemes.

She has also campaigned for environmental causes and worked with the anti-fracking campaign group, Artists Against Fracking.

Cosmo for Latinas is a magazine aimed at young Hispanic women in the United States.

The magazine covers a range of topics, including fashion, beauty, relationships and lifestyle.

Dawson was featured on the cover of the Fall 2014 issue, and her interview with the magazine was conducted by Latina journalist Soledad O’Brien.

Dawson has had a successful career in Hollywood, appearing in movies such as Men in Black II, Rent and Unstoppable.

She has also worked in television, with roles in shows such as Daredevil and Luke Cage.

She has been nominated for a number of awards during her career, including a Screen Actors Guild Award for her performance in Rent.

Despite her success, Dawson has been open about the challenges she has faced as a woman of colour in Hollywood.

In an interview with The Guardian in 2017, she spoke about the lack of diversity in the industry.

“There’s a lot of things that are really hard about being a woman in Hollywood,” she said.

“But being a woman of colour, it’s even harder.”
