Rosario Dawson was brutally raped & molested as a kid
Actress Rosario Dawson has revealed on the podcast Morado Lens that she was raped and molested as a child.
She spoke out about sexual harassment in Hollywood and how it wasn’t foreign to her.
The actress said, “It happens with people that are supposed to take care of you when you’re a child.”
Dawson’s confession comes at a time when sexual harassment and assault are being discussed in Hollywood.
This follows allegations against powerful men such as Harvey Weinstein and Russell Simmons.

Actress Lupita Nyong’o accused Weinstein of sexual harassment in an op-ed for The New York Times last year.
In November, Simmons was accused of sexual assault and stepped down from his companies.
In addition, Dawson also talked about the loss of her cousin, Vaneza Ines Vazquez, who died at 26 years old.
She reflected on how her cousin’s death and the loss of her grandmother made her think about life.
Dawson said, “If I had died at 26 [like Vazquez], it was a good life.” Despite living a “good life,” Dawson still seeks resolve.
She said, “Whenever my moment comes I want to know I lived a good life.
I don’t want to just be marinating in the upset because I have a lot of trauma and sadness to dwell on if I want to, but there’s so much to be grateful for and I don’t want to waste my time not being dedicated to that.”
The actress has previously been open about her experiences with sexual assault. In 2018, she spoke to Women’s Health about the effects of being sexually assaulted at the age of 15.
Dawson described the event as “one of the scariest things I’ve ever experienced in my life.”
Dawson is known for her acting roles in movies such as “Rent,” “Sin City,” and “Men in Black II.”
She has also appeared in several Marvel series including “Luke Cage” and “Daredevil.”
Dawson is not the only actress to speak out about her experiences of sexual assault in Hollywood.
Others who have spoken out include Nyong’o, Ashley Judd, and Gwyneth Paltrow.
The actress is an advocate for numerous causes, including environmental issues and voting rights.
In 2020, Dawson founded the voting rights organization Voto Latino, which works to encourage Latinx people to vote in U.S. elections.
Dawson’s latest acting role is in the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian.” She also starred in the drama film “Briarpatch” in 2019.
