Dakota Johnson, an American actress, was afraid of being dragged into the infamous Amber Heard and Johnny Depp trial after a video circulated online.

In the trial, many celebrity names appeared in the testimonies from the actors, including Paul Bettany, Elon Musk, and James Franco.

Johnson was worried because of a viral video titled “The EXACT moment Dakota Johnson KNEW Amber Heard was VIOLENT towards Johnny Depp.”

It showed Johnson’s reaction when Depp revealed his injured finger to her while promoting “Black Mass” at the Venice Film Festival in 2015.

The video sparked rumors that Johnson might be called to the witness box.

Johnson expressed her frustration with the situation to Vanity Fair, stating,

“I was like, ‘For the love of God, why? Why am I involved in this?’ I don’t remember that at all, but please, take me out of this. Don’t let this go further. Can you imagine, oh, my God, if I was called to the witness stand? […] I can’t believe that people are watching [the trial] like it’s a show. It’s like a courtroom drama, and my heart breaks. It’s so, so, so crazy. Humans are so f**king weird. The Internet is a wild, wild place.”

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard met during the filming of “The Rum Diary,” and in 2012 they started dating. They got married in a private ceremony in 2015.

Other celebrity names appeared in the Depp-Heard trial, including Paul Bettany, Elon Musk, and Cara Delevingne.

Depp’s friend, Paul Bettany, was mentioned because of his close association with Depp. Depp testified in the trial that Heard was jealous of their friendship, saying,

“Ms Heard despised Mr. Bettany, mainly because we had become such close friends, and for her, he was a threat and would take me away from her, with regard to if Paul Bettany were getting the attention from me, that was a show-stopper. It would cause all kinds of unpleasantries.”

Elon Musk and Cara Delevingne were also mentioned following an alleged threesome he had with Heard and Delevingne.

However, Musk denied the allegation and said that he only dated Heard after she filed for divorce.

Other celebrities mentioned in the trial include James Franco, Winona Ryder, Eddie Redmayne, and Marilyn Manson.

Depp and Heard split in 2016. In 2018, Heard wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post describing surviving domestic violence, although Depp’s name was not mentioned.

Following the op-ed, their battle in court started.

Depp sued Heard for $50 million in damages.

In the trial, the jury found that Heard’s allegations against Depp were false and awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages in his defamation suit.

After the verdict, Heard countersued for $100 million, stating that she was only violent with Depp in self-defense or defense of her younger sister.

The jury awarded Heard $2 million in compensatory damages in her counterclaim but $0 in punitive damages.
