Monica Lewinsky’s lingerie on sale with Bill Clinton letters

An auction of a collection of Monica Lewinsky’s old clothes, handwritten notes, and gifts signed by former President Clinton has begun, with bids beginning at $2,500.

The items were originally gathered as evidence by Kenneth Starr, the independent counsellor pursuing the impeachment charges over the affair between Lewinsky and Clinton.

The auction includes eight pieces of clothing, including a sheer floor-length negligee, that were gifted to Kathy Bleiler.

The collection does not include the infamous blue dress that was stained with Clinton’s semen.

Lewinsky had a five-year affair with Andy Bleiler, her married former high school drama teacher, which began before her relationship with Clinton.

Bleiler gained momentary international recognition during the investigation into Lewinsky’s affair with President Clinton when he came forward and told about his lengthy affair with her.

Bleilers then-wife Kathy ended up with the collection of clothes and gifts that the couple received from Monica over the years, after their split.

According to Laura Yntema, an auction manager at Nate D. Sanders, Lewinsky was friends with the couple and gave some of her clothes to Kathy, and they may have exchanged some of their clothes.

The clothes Lewinsky gave the Bleilers were all sizes large and extra-large.

The auction includes two auto-pen signed photos of Mr Clinton, one with him alongside Hillary, that Monica sent to Mr Bleiler.

In her role as a White House staffer, it would not have been unusual for her to submit a request for a personalised photo to be signed in the style of the President.

Lewinsky arranged for Clinton to write a birthday note to Bleiler during the time when her relationship with the two men overlapped.

The typed note from Clinton read, Dear Andy: Hillary and I want to personally extend our warmest wishes to you as you gather with your family and friends to celebrate your birthday.

As you look forward to the year ahead, please accept our best wishes for good health and much happiness.

Happy Birthday! Such correspondence went through proper channels at the White House and was not a result of Lewinskys s**ual relationship with the president.

Lewinsky also gifted a pack of White House matches and boxes of M&Ms with the seal of the president.

The lot is being sold by Nate D.

Sanders, a memorabilia collector.

The auction house expects the final sale of the lot to be anywhere between $250,000 and $500,000.

According to Ms Yntema, most of the bidding happens on the last day, and the sale will close in three days.
