However, Aubrey Plaza, the White Lotus star, has revealed that a director asked her to “masturbate for real” when filming a racy scene.

She played the role of Brandy Klark in the 2013 comedy film The To-Do List.

During one scene, Brandy gets intimate with herself as part of her bucket list before starting college.
When Aubrey was cast in the film, she thought she would be acting in the scene.

However, when she arrived on set, she found the camera was mounted on the ceiling, and she was in her underwear and a Clinton t-shirt.

She also found a group of old men smoking on the set.
Aubrey Plaza said, “I thought I was doing one thing and then when I showed up, it was a whole different thing, it was a full-body shot.

And I asked the director, ‘What should I do?’ And she said, ‘Masturbate, like it says in the script’.”
The actress had initially thought that the scene would be shot in a way that would not require her to do it for real.

She said, “Just because in my head, I thought, ‘Oh, we’ll probably shoot this in a way where I don’t really have to really do it’.”
The director of the film, Maggie Carey, wanted the scene to look authentic.

Aubrey had visualized a scene where her hand slowly goes out of frame, but the director had more explicit ideas.
Plaza added, “And then I went and touched myself. It was the most nerve-wracking [scene].”

Hollywood has many ways of preserving actors’ modesty during s** scenes, including modesty barriers, intimacy coordinators, and false nipples.

However, sometimes the real thing is needed to give authenticity to the scene.
For example, Margot Robbie starred in The Wolf of Wall Street, where she filmed a s** scene with Leonardo DiCaprio.

She was even given a room full of genital wigs for the scene.
Aubrey Plaza’s racy scene was a full-body shot, and she had to perform the act as written in the script.
