Kristen Wiig talks being ‘fully n-ked’ in new role

Kristen Wiig, the former star of Saturday Night Live, is set to embrace full-frontal n^dty in her new role as a woman with borderline personality disorder in the film Welcome to Me.

Speaking to Elle magazine, Wiig revealed that she had never read a character like the one she plays in the film, and that she was initially nervous about the nudity.

“I got to a scene where it read, ‘She’s fully n^ked,’ and I remember thinking: If I do this movie, I have to do this scene, because it’s really important to this script,” she said.

Wiig is also set to star alongside Bill Hader in the upcoming drama The Skeleton Twins, in which they play estranged and depressed twins who independently cheat death on the same day.

For Elle, Wiig posed in outfits from Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs, Christopher Kane, and Vera Wang.

The photo-shoot took place at Grey Gardens, the legendary East Hampton estate where socialites Edith and Edie Beale lived, which was made iconic by the 1976 documentary of the same name.

Although Wiig is best known for her comedic roles in films such as Bridesmaids and Knocked Up, she has always wanted to do more dramatic work.

“Comedy is where my heart lies, but there’s also something really satisfying about being able to step away with a small crew, become a character and get to know her for a few months at a time,” she said.

Wiig also co-wrote Bridesmaids, which was nominated for two Academy Awards.

Wiig’s new film Welcome to Me was directed by Shira Piven.

It tells the story of Alice Klieg, a woman with borderline personality disorder who wins the lottery, quits her medication, and starts a TV talk show.

The film has been praised for its handling of mental illness, and for Wiig’s performance.

“The film is a showcase for Wiig in every way and she’s more than up to the challenge,” wrote Richard Roeper in the Chicago Sun-Times.

Wiig is also set to make her directorial debut with a comedy written by Groundlings performer Annie Mumolo.

The film’s name and release date have not yet been confirmed.

In a statement, Elle editor-in-chief Robbie Myers praised Wiig for her candidness and her fashion sense.

“Putting her on our cover was an easy choice to make, because she is such an ELLE woman—wickedly smart, brutally honest, funny, profane, and profound,” she said.

“Plus, she loves fashion and wears it with a relaxed ease.”

Wiig was born in Canandaigua, New York.

She was married to actor Hayes Hargrove from 2005 to 2009, and briefly dated The Strokes’ drummer Fabrizio Moretti from 2012 to 2013.

Speaking to Elle, she said that her new roles had allowed her to explore different aspects of herself as an actress.
