Bella Thorne accused of scamming her OnlyFans followers
Bella Thorne, known for doing whatever she wants on social media platforms, joined OnlyFans recently and made a staggering $1 million in just 24 hours.
Her success, however, has sparked controversy and accusations of scamming the site’s creators.
OnlyFans allows creators to post whatever they want for their paying subscribers, including NSFW content, with some using the platform for porn.
Yet, Thorne insisted there would be no n^dty on her page and posted “personal content and never-before-seen photos and videos.”
Despite her fans’ excitement, some commented on her Instagram video criticizing the millionaire for stealing from people, suggesting she could donate the money she made instead.

Furthermore, rumors surfaced about Thorne offering a supposedly n^de video for an extra $200 tip, which turned out not to include what she advertised, according to Nikki Newhope, who posted a TikTok video about it.
As a result, OnlyFans received many refund requests, leading the site to change its payout policy and tip policy.
Annabel Jones, who goes by @okannabel on Twitter, stated that Thorne’s popularity on the platform only highlighted existing problems with OnlyFans.
A screenshot circulating on the internet outlines many issues creators face with the site, including delayed payouts and reduced tip limits.
Jones suggests that OnlyFans has cash flow issues, a clunky system, scams creators on tips, and is desperate for celebrities to join, adding that they do not care about s** workers.
While some blame Thorne for these issues, others argue that she is not as much to blame as others say.
s** worker Ellamourne told Rolling Stone that Thorne’s celebrity status means she deals with different issues than the average s** worker.
She suggests that unless Thorne’s intent is to drive the conversation towards decriminalization of s** work, she will be disappointed.
Another issue some s** workers have with celebrities joining OnlyFans is that they do not share the same stigma that s** workers do, yet benefit from their hard work making the site what it is.
Aussie Rachel, a s** worker and OnlyFans content creator, told Rolling Stone that seeing a celebrity gentrifying a platform and making obscene amounts of money without acknowledging the plight of s** workers is a slap in the face.
Thorne’s success on OnlyFans has undoubtedly forced the site to be held accountable for good business practices; however, these issues are unlikely to go away anytime soon.
Whether or not Thorne is responsible for the changes in the site’s policies, her presence on the platform has brought attention to a longstanding issue within the s** work industry: the lack of recognition and support for s** workers.
