Sylvester Stallone opens up on ‘depressing’ s** scene in new show Tulsa King

Sylvester Stallone has opened up about a scene in the pilot episode of his new crime series, Tulsa King, which he found both “flattering and depressing.”

The show is set to premiere on Paramount Plus this week.

In it, Stallone plays Dwight “The General” Manfredi, a New York mafia boss who has just been released from prison after serving 25 years.

Upon his release, Dwight moves to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he begins to suspect that the mob may not have his best interests at heart.

As a result, he sets up his own gang.

In the pilot episode, a woman flees the room in horror after sleeping with Dwight and discovering that he is 75 years old.

Speaking about the scene, Stallone revealed that he felt sorry for his character and apologized for his actions.

He also described the scene as “quite flattering and also quite depressing,” given his age compared to that of the other actors on set.

Viewers will see Dwight shift gears as he assembles a crew of unlikely characters to establish a new criminal empire.

However, trouble may be looming on the horizon for him when his boss requests that he send his earnings back.

Despite being a veteran of the movie industry, Tulsa King marks Stallone’s first lead role in a TV show.

When asked about his thoughts on aging, the actor admitted that he feels very immature and is averse to the idea of acting his age or aging gracefully.

He explained that he tries to embrace his inner child more as he grows older, and that the only way he feels his age is because of the many injuries he has sustained throughout his career.

Stallone’s co-stars in Tulsa King include Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Jay Will, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, A.C. Peterson, Garrett Hedlund, Dana Delany, Dashiell Connery, Annabella Sciorra, Stephanie Kurtzuba, Travis Quentin, Tatiana Zappardino, and Hartleigh Buwick.

Despite the fact that Tulsa King has not yet premiered, many have questioned whether it will expand past its initial 10-episode run.

Stallone himself teased a potential second season in an Instagram video from the wrap party in August, telling his fans to “keep punching” and that he loved them.

Tulsa King will premiere on Paramount Plus on Sunday, November 13th, and in the UK on the following Monday.

Fans of crime dramas and action movies alike are sure to enjoy Stallone’s latest venture into television as he brings his iconic presence to the small screen.
