Transformers star Mark Wahlberg once refused to perform a s** scene in the 2013 thriller Broken City out of respect for his wife, Rhea Durham.

Although Wahlberg had no problems doing a love scene in Peter Berg’s Spenser Confidential, he tried to convince Broken City director Allen Hughes to omit a love scene from the film.

Unfortunately for Wahlberg, Hughes refused to cut the scene from the movie, and Wahlberg had to make an uncomfortable compromise in order to avoid performing the love scene.

Wahlberg has occasionally spoken about how his wife doesn’t want him doing s** scenes.

He usually avoids indulging in raunchier content if he can help it.

“If it has anything to do with me kissing somebody my wife’s not gonna like it so I’ll fight to get it cut out,” Wahlberg told WENN (via Contact Music.)

“Those are the more important issues.

I usually try to choose my battles wisely.”

According to Wahlberg, there’s a love scene in the movie that is very graphic and he didn’t want to do it.

His onscreen love interest plays an actress who is having a hardcore s** scene that she shoots for the movie.

Wahlberg was angry when he saw it in the theatre, but he still had to be n^de in the scene by himself after she leaves.

Although he avoided performing the love scene, he still had to be b*tt n^ked for six hours.

Many actors have plenty of stories involving uncomfortable s** scenes.

But for comedian Iliza Shlesinger, she couldn’t help but feel nervous when engaging with the Boogie Nights star.

On The Late Late Show with James Corden, Shlesinger described her anxious experience making out with the veteran actor on Peter Berg’s Spenser Confidential.

“I was nervous going in, nervous during it.

I don’t know if you knew how nervous I was,” Shlesinger told Wahlberg.

“There’s no school for how to have s** with a huge movie star on camera.” In the midst of the scene, Shlesinger sought comfort from Wahlberg to help her through the take.

Wahlberg and his wife, Rhea Durham, met while he was promoting a movie.

“We met in New York City, while I was doing a press junket.

I asked her if she wanted to come out with me, and she said yes.

Then I asked her if she wanted to come to church with me the next morning, and she said yes again.

So that was our first date: St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York,” Wahlberg said.

Shortly after the first date, Wahlberg knew that Durham was the one.

The two got married in 2009 and have been together ever since.

Although some actors are comfortable with performing intimate scenes on camera, others would rather avoid them.

Wahlberg is one of those actors who prefers to avoid such scenes, especially if his wife isn’t okay with them.

He has been known to choose his battles wisely when it comes to kissing or love scenes.

Wahlberg’s experience making out with Iliza Shlesinger on Peter Berg’s Spenser Confidential seemed to have gone well, but it was a different story for Broken City.
