Lili Reinhart apologizes over t0pless pics
Lili Reinhart, the actress who stars in the popular television show, “Riverdale,” has issued an apology to her fans after sharing a picture on social media that many have criticized as “tone deaf.” The image in question was a topless photo of herself which she had posted on her Instagram account.
She had intended to use the post as a way to raise awareness about the death of Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old EMT who was fatally shot in her Louisville, Kentucky apartment by officers serving a no-knock warrant in a drug investigation back in March.
According to Us Weekly, the caption of the post read: “Now that my sideboob has gotten your attention, Breonna Taylor’s murderers have not been arrested.
Demand justice.” However, the post has since been deleted, and Reinhart has taken to Twitter to apologize for her actions.
In her apology, Reinhart wrote, “I’ve always tried to use my platform for good and speak up about things that are important to me.

I also can admit when I make a mistake, and I made a mistake with my caption.
It was never my intent to insult anyone, and I’m truly sorry to those that were offended.”
The actress went on to explain that she is still learning and trying to be better.
She admitted that her caption came off as tone-deaf, and that she had not given enough thought to how it might be perceived by others.
Reinhart emphasized that her intentions were good, but she understands that her message could be seen as insensitive.
Since George Floyd’s death, Reinhart has been an active supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement.
She has encouraged her followers on social media to donate, educate themselves about racism and stand in solidarity with people of color.
On June 1, Reinhart wrote on her Instagram account, “I want to say that I am ashamed of the racism that exists in this country.
We are taught to look at our police officers as helpful and friendly when we learn about ‘leaders’ in elementary school.
Our ‘leaders’ have failed us today.”
Reinhart’s apology has been met with mixed reactions from fans.
