Will The Kissing Booth 4 happen on Netflix?
Fans of the Kissing Booth should be aware that this may be their final chance to pucker up. The teen rom-com stars Joey King, Jacob Elordi, and Joel Courtney are making us all wish for a lasting summer romance as the third chapter in the uber-popular franchise finally hits Netflix. However, if you’re seeking for more King and co. inspiration, this could be your final opportunity. It appears that the Kissing Booth’s journey has come to an end.
Joey King reprised her role as Elle Evans, a recently graduated high school student torn between going to Berkeley with her best friend or Harvard with her boyfriend, in The Kissing Booth 3, which debuted on Netflix earlier this month.
The Kissing Booth 4 seems unlikely, especially given Joey King’s definition of the third film as “the end of an era.”
The franchise follows Elle Evans (Joey King) as she navigates her personal life as she enters early adulthood, based on the novels written by Beth Reekles of the same name.

Sadly, there are only three main installments in the series, as well as two spin-offs called The Kissing Booth Road Trip and The Beach House (A Kissing Booth Story). In other words, the source material has run out, making a sequel to Kissing Booth highly improbable. However, considering how KB3 ended, some fans may be wondering whether there’s even a chance we’ll catch a peek of Elle in college.
Elle (King) decided what she wanted to do with her life in the third film, and in an unexpected move, she chose not to attend Harvard with Noah (Jacob Elordi) or Berkeley with Lee (Joel Courtney). Instead, she pursued her own interests and enrolled at USC to study video game design.
Noah Flynn (Jacob Elordi) — the brother of her best friend Lee Flynn — was the character’s first romantic relationship in the original The Kissing Booth (Joel Courtney). Things eventually worked out for the trio after some problems caused by a friendship rule prohibiting them from having romantic relationships with each other’s family members. In comparison to its predecessor, The Kissing Booth 2 has a larger and more intricate story. Elle was experiencing trouble with her long-distance relationship with Noah, while Lee was having issues with his new girlfriend, Rachel (Meganne Young). With the emergence of a prospective love interest in Marco Pea, her situation got much more complicated (Taylor Zakhar Perez).
Elordi seems convinced his role is over and out.
While Elle confessed that returning for a fourth film would be “a little hard” since The Kissing Booth 3 tied up a lot of loose ends, she stated that she “never gets tired of playing Elle.”
“Selfishly, do I want to play Elle again? Absolutely,” she added.
While the third film has been billed as the conclusion of The Kissing Booth trilogy, the same thing happened recently with Netflix’s other popular adolescent show, To All the Boys, which has now spawned a spin-off TV series.
Because no official news about The Kissing Booth 4 has been released, there is no cast for the possible sequel. Joey King, Jacob Elordi, and Joel Courtney are likely to reprise their roles as Elle, Noah, and Lee if the film is approved by Netflix. Expect new characters to be introduced when they begin their adult lives, since The Kissing Booth 3 concluded with the cast six years older.
