Robert Pattinson Says sex scenes in Cosmopolis ‘were a little awkward’

Cosmopolis, starring Robert Pattinson, was released on Friday and he’s been talking about those sex scenes in greater detail!

The 25-year-old actor plays Eric Parker, a businessman who embarks on a bizarre, Odyssey-like voyage around Manhattan in a stretch limo directed by David Cronenberg.

In an interview with GQ, Pattinson says that filming the sex scenes with his female co-stars was one of the most challenging aspects of the project.

Rob, 26, admitted that a sex scene is “always a big thing” for him. Rob claimed that he was ecstatic to work with Juliette Binoche, saying, “Juliete Binoche is one of my favorite actresses and within five minutes of meeting her we were pretending to have sex. Which wasn’t in the script.”

“With both sex scenes we were supposed to have finished sex before we did the scene. Both times, David was just like, ‘Yeah, just have sex’. That was a little awkward.”

However, while chemistry isn’t always present, Pattinson didn’t feel a connection with Patricia McKenzie, his other love interest in the picture. “I thought that Patricia despised me. We hadn’t said a word to each other apart from when I asked ‘Where are you from?’ and she literately looked me up and down. I was like, ‘I’m not trying to do anything- I don’t have any idea!’ Then on the day of the sex scene she was like, ‘Hey, how’s it going?’ I don’t know what kind of preparation that was for this scene but it definitely did something.”

While Rob is an actor who is required to do sex scenes with other women as part of his career, his heart still belongs to Kristen Stewart, his longstanding love.

The film received a standing ovation at its Cannes debut, which was based on the Don DeLillo novel of the same name.
