Thor’s Jaimie Alexander Posts Photos From her Surgery
Jaimie Alexander is known for her roles as fierce women in films like Thor and Blindspot, but it appears that she recently faced a different type of conflict. The actress recently revealed on social media that she tore her ACL and MCL, necessitating surgery.
Alexander originally broke the news in a February Instagram photo that showed her leg wrapped and braced.
Alexander then posted images following her operation on Saturday, praising the physicians and medical personnel for their assistance in getting her back on her feet.
The anterior cruciate ligament, or ACL, is one of the primary ligaments inside a knee. The medial collateral ligament (MCL) is a band of tissue that runs along the outside of a person’s knee.

Thor Injury:
Jaimie Alexander sustained an injury on the London set of Thor: The Dark World.
Back then, she said the following on Twitter:
“Already in recovery mode and my spirits are high, I’ll be back kicking ass as Lady Sif in no time! It can only get better from here on out!… Received great news today! Meds are kicking in. Awesome funny nurses here at the hospital. Physio tomorrow. All good. #HappySif #Thankful”
Alexander described what happened in an interview with the New York Post.
“It was raining, it was dark outside, it was like 5 in the morning — and I went down a metal staircase and slipped and slipped a disc in my thoracic spine and chipped 11 of my vertebrae… I knocked my left shoulder out of place and tore my rhomboid on my right side . . . It took me out of filming for a month.”
She went on to say that she “heal really fast. Everyone thinks it’s really funny to tease me about staircases now that I fell down one . . . I’m walking in heels again though, so that’s a good sign.”
