“They were already talking about my bre@sts at 13” – Natalie Portman

Actress Natalie Portman recently made headlines after giving an interview to The Sunday Times, in which she discussed the sexualization of her body since she was a child in Hollywood.

Despite the success of her recent film, “Thor: Love & Thunder,” Portman highlighted the physical and psychological effort she had to put in to bring Jane Foster to life once again.

Portman spoke about the normalcy of being sexualized as a child in the entertainment industry.

“I think, at the time, it was very normal…. Part of it was the kind of roles that were being written (for movies) and part of it was the way journalists felt entitled to write about it (her body image),” she said.

“I remember reading a review of me when I was about 13 years old that talked about my bre^sts.”

Due to this early sexualization, Portman made the conscious decision to refuse roles involving love or sex scenes.

“I’m not going to be seen that way, because it felt like a vulnerable position and also a less respectable position, in a way, to be characterized that way,” she explained.

At 41 years old and with numerous film credits and an Oscar award, Portman is grateful for what she has accomplished both in her professional and private life.

She is no longer concerned about being sexualized and can enjoy the success she has achieved.

In addition to discussing the sexualization of young actresses in Hollywood, Portman talked about the challenges she faced while filming “Thor: Love & Thunder.”

As she plays a heroine in the film, she had to maintain an exemplary physical appearance.

“I turned 40 while making the movie and it was an incredible moment in my life to say, ‘You’re going to be the fittest and strongest version of yourself,'” Portman said.

Achieving this required a strict diet and exercise regimen to build muscle.

Despite the challenges, Portman enjoyed being a part of “Thor: Love & Thunder” and was excited to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe once again.

The film has been a success in theaters, and Portman’s performance has been praised.

Portman has been an advocate for change in Hollywood for many years. In 2018, she and several other actresses founded Time’s Up, an organization that seeks to combat sexual harassment and inequality in the entertainment industry.

Portman has also been vocal about the need for more female representation both in front of and behind the camera.

Through her work with Time’s Up and her outspokenness on issues of representation and sexualization in Hollywood, Portman has become a prominent figure in the industry.

Her honesty and willingness to speak out against harmful practices have earned her respect from her peers and fans alike.
