Will Smith was scared when his son wore skirts

Jada Pinkett Smith has revealed that her husband, Will Smith, was initially uncomfortable when their son, Jaden Smith, modelled women’s clothing for a Louis Vuitton campaign.

Jaden, who is known for experimenting with gender fluid fashion, has frequently worn skirts on the red carpet.

However, when he was chosen for the Louis Vuitton campaign, which involved wearing traditionally feminine clothing, Will was uneasy about the situation.

Jada discussed her husband’s initial reaction on her Facebook series, Red Table Talk.

She explained that Will had called her to express his concerns, saying “my son is not supposed to be in a Louis Vuitton ad wearing skirts.”

Jada continued to explain her response to Will’s discomfort: “I was like, ‘Well, you know what Will? It’s what he wants.

It’s his expression.’ And he said okay.

“But it was tight.

“He was afraid, he was uncomfortable.

“You know dads, expectations, macho macho.” Jada and Will’s 17-year-old daughter, Willow, also revealed that their father had been uncomfortable when Willow shaved her head at the age of nine.

According to Willow, Will had told her, “don’t do it, all your femininity…,” as if all her femininity was in her hair.

Jada and Willow’s conversation about their family’s experiences with gender fluidity was part of an episode of Red Table Talk in which they were joined by EJ Johnson and his mother Cookie to discuss the topic.

EJ, who identifies as gay and gender fluid, explained the concept of gender fluidity as “floating in the spectrum” and not being defined by any gender confines.

Willow added that being gender fluid was like being “nebulous,” and she urged viewers to be “normal” by being themselves.

Jaden Smith has been known to push the boundaries of traditional gender norms with his fashion choices.

In 2016, he wore a black and white skirt over a pair of distressed jeans to the Coachella music festival.

Later that year, he donned a skirt for a photoshoot in Vogue Korea.

Jaden’s fashion choices have often been praised for their boldness and for encouraging conversations about gender and identity.

However, Jada’s recent comments highlight the challenges that some parents face when their children challenge traditional gender roles.

Jada explained that parents want their children to be in a place where they can protect them.

However, she also stressed the importance of supporting their children’s expressions of individuality.

Jaden has been open about his fashion choices and his desire to break down gender barriers.

In a 2016 interview with GQ, he said: “I’m just expressing how I feel inside, which is really no particular way because everyday it changes how I feel about the world and myself.” He also said that he hoped his fashion choices would encourage others to be themselves and to “not be afraid to take risks, to be the person that you want to be.”

Jaden’s fashion choices have also been celebrated by the fashion industry.

In 2018, he was announced as the new face of Louis Vuitton’s womenswear campaign.

The campaign was described as an exploration of “the notion of boundlessness” and featured Jaden wearing a skirt, a fringed top, and other traditionally feminine clothing.

Jaden’s father, Will Smith, has also expressed his support for his son’s fashion choices.

In a 2019 interview with Stephen Colbert, Will said that he was proud of Jaden for “being willing to live and die by his own artistic decisions and creations.” Will also said that he had learned a lot from his son’s fearlessness and willingness to take risks.
