Bryan Cranston, known for his remarkable performances in Breaking Bad and Malcolm in the Middle, has recently shared some updates with his fans.

During an interview with GQ, the American actor shared that he has been planning to take some time off from work and spend some quality time with his wife, Robin Dearden.

He surprised his fans by seemingly announcing his retirement plans from acting.

However, as reports surrounding his alleged retirement started coming out, the actor took to Instagram to clarify his statement and debunked the claims, saying that he is not planning to retire anytime soon.

In a series of pictures with his wife, Cranston shared that he wanted to set the record straight, and said, “I’m not retiring.”

He further explained that he plans to take a break from acting after turning 70 in 2026 and take a year off to spend some time with his wife.

“I’m not even sure what ‘pausing’ means entirely, but at this moment, I think it means that by taking a year off it will provide several things,” he said.

Cranston shared that he wants to take some time off for his wife and wants to enjoy the “latter years” of his life with “new hopes and goals and experiences.” The Why Him?

actor also mentioned that he has had a wonderful career, as he experienced working on TV, on stage, and in films.

And he wants to take a break for a career reset, which would allow him to “replenish [his] soul” and prepare for his future roles more authentically.

Cranston also shared some of the things that he needs to get done before he goes on to enjoy his break with his wife.

One of the things he plans to do is to disappear from social media and not engage in any business activities.

He has shared that he has always wanted to “dive into the classic novels,” but he never got the opportunity to do so.

And he plans to finally do it during the break.

However, his break is still quite far away, as he has lined up several upcoming films.

Cranston also shared that he is producing some TV shows and is planning on returning to Broadway.

His fans are happy that he’s finally taking some time off for his family and have said that they are eagerly waiting for his upcoming projects.

Cranston’s clarification about his retirement plans comes after reports that he was planning to retire.

The actor had shared in his GQ interview that he felt cheated by Jon Hamm despite beating him at Emmys for years.

During the interview, he also talked about his experience working on Breaking Bad and how he feels about the show’s ending.
